They're a long way from ol' Pimento University

This is the greatest story on the site

The problem is... well, really old cartoons don't really have characterization as such.

I had a similar issue with my story using Peter Pegasus. He had about two-minutes of screen-time in Fantasia, with no dialog. Picking out a personality from that amounted to mostly guesswork. As one commenter noted, he felt somewhat like an OC.

A Dover Boys crossover! I'LL READ IT! NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!

That was great :)

I think this fiction is something like this

I'm 100% sure.

But wait! What of sweet Dora Standpipe?

I like the mental image of "He's not here! He's not here! ..." happening over and over again. :rainbowlaugh:

Another crossover fic involving Loony Tunes characters? I must read it at once!

Or just disappointed at the very most.

Good news! I was quite entertained!

Not bad. A credit to the source material. Though now that I've said it, I'm not sure if that's a compliment. It was meant to be though!

11199186 If you mean the cartoon, it is a compliment. If you mean the Rover Boys books... well, just don't mean those books.

Why do you hate yourself? Don’t do that.

Ah, good old-fashioned Dover Boys antics. From the Boys and Dan Backslide completely forgetting about Miss Standpipe by the end of the first act, to the delightfully silly means of capture, this was simply a fun read. Nothing groundbreaking, sure, but it doesn't have to be.

I´m curious about the books. Too silly? characters ridiculously one-dimensional? Language overly satinized?

11200913 A combination of author telling and not showing, utterly contrived circumstances, and a great heaping dollop of, "NOBODY TALKS LIKE THAT, ESPECIALLY NOT KIDS TO THEIR ELDERS!"

They really are just very poorly written on all levels.

Exquisite. A worthy representative of heroes and antagonist both.

You may say there's not much character to these characters, but you captured what there is with aplomb. Thank you for this, and best of luck in the judging.

Ponyville University: Good Ol' P. U.

Personality? What's that? Characters don't need those things! Just look how much money "Ferngully In Space/Dances With Smurfs" made! ;D
