Octavia and Vinyl’s lives had been practically perfect since they met—until one chaotic night at the Harmony Awards gala turns it all upside down. Vinyl accidentally gets drunk and causes a scene that humiliates Octavia and threatens to ruin her reputation. Spiraling into self-doubt, Octavia stumbles upon a mysterious book in Ponyville’s library, unknowingly setting the stage for a life-changing journey.
Let’s ask ourselves how they manage to be in each other’s hooves— quite literally— and see where the music takes us, shall we?
Feels like a strong start to me! Definitely interested in seeing how things go from here. Writing style's nice, not too many grammar issues (although there are a few misplaced "it's" when it should be "its"). Not enough to be overly distracting, of course, but that should be taken into consideration. Regardless, I enjoyed it and look forward to its continuation.
And ah, yes. "College Seasons". A classic.
I remember seeing a similarly themed story long ago and I am a huge sucker for this pairing. I'm already buying in second one and am eager to see where this goes!
Love this so far, can't wait for the next bit!
Well now this is an interesting start.
I like this, although I feel the description and metaphor gets a bit ponderous at times - and it's not just because I was eager to get to the body-swapping shenanigans :) Love the setup, and Vinyl getting drunk and punching out an obnoxious critic is a very Vinyl thing to do. XD
I for one don't mind the flowery writing style. If that's how your mind expresses itself, then allow it to express as such. I do find it amusing how the book itself seems to have its own characterization.
One thing I wonder about is speaking mannerisms and accents. My mind's eye (or ear, in this case) attributes an accent to Octavia in nearly all instances, so I assumed there would be conflict related to that in the phone call. Nothing was mentioned of that, though, so I wonder if this rendition of Octavia is accent-less, or if it's simply yet to be emphasized as an issue.
Either way, chapter enjoyed. Good luck on the next.
Ah yes, vampires. Imagine having one for a roommate.

Oh well… I believe I do make a small reference to Octavia’s accent when Vinyl imitates Octavia when they are by the fireplace… but I guess you can miss it— since its just a small mention…
The fact that Octavia’s accent isn’t mentioned doesn’t mean it isn’t there— that’s kind of my bad— but don’t worry, our favorite accent from our beloved cellist is still there! I was planning on making a reference to it anyway. Buuuut yes— I’m sorry if I didn’t put enough emphasis on that issue yet, I just figured it wasn’t so necessary to include it at the moment. I just hope it wasn’t too disappointing!
Thanks for the feedback, brother!
