I actually would like to start off saying is to thank you all for reading . This story is not perfect but it is one of my better known stories from fanfiction.net where I go under the name NocturneD. It's already 18 chapters long and already has an audio reading by Popoman100 on youtube of the first three chapters. This story might not be for everyone but serves as more of a what-if things are not as great as they seem. Plus, I'm very new to Fimfiction after being on Fanfiction.net for over ten to fifteen years and trying to get the hang of things. Wondering if this is the right way I'm even doing things.
Like I said, this story is not for everyone and I'm glad you all took the time to read it.

1279785 okay fair enough I really appreciate the criticism. But you really have to read the rest, along with Original Sin which is supposed to be the side story to get the whole picture here. As for Big Mac, I don't think he was in the wedding unless I could not see him so, maybe he did not know because he probably did not go as that gave me the idea he did not know her plus he was not really doing anything at the party except still doing work. As for quitting past chapter 2, its your call and I will respect it. But you're missing a lot more if you don't read Original Sin which is supposed to be Shining Armor's point of view through the whole matter. Him quitting on her, naive yes but understandable that he wants to be ticked on the situation.
Oh i remember this! I enjoyed this story a lot. Still don't know how most people will take some... um... particular elements of this story, but those don't interfere with what mattters in this story.

It seems Cadance used her love spell on SA from the start and made him fall in love with him, even so far as to make him break up with his girlfriend and become a guard just for her. He ends up sleeping with Rarity and cements the divorce. Twilight quits being Celestia's student and she seems to hate Ponyville and her friends.
Personally I never saw the charm on Big Mac. He is pretty dull to me. And to give him all this characterization... Might as a well be an OC.

That was the only mistake I found, beyond that you nailed everything. I could actually feel all the emotion and see each scene going past like a play in front of me. The only thing that stood out for me was that Celestia would actually make her foot the bill entirely, a seven digit bill at that. I'm a real go-getter for adventure and romance but a sad fic like this, honestly I'm glad I took the plunge because it was awesome.

Please don't have Big Mac be some kind of badass fighter just because he's strong and an earth pony. Shining is (was) captain of the Royal Guard and one of the most powerful unicorns in Equestria, he would put the farmer down so fast it wouldn't even be funny. No formal fighting training and having to fight against magic? Not a chance for the red pony.
I am glad that Twilight didn't bow to Celestia's will immediately. When something this immediate comes to play he's her family and Celestia isn't.
Is Shining actually cheating on her? Isn't that another story you have? And all of this being said, this story is just depressing and makes me glad it took so long to update. I don't read sad fics so if you gave us 10 updates in a week I would probably never read them for over a year. I'm more of a fan of happier romances styled stories. That's purely me and all in all I really enjoy this story.

my, Shining Armor seems....calmed and mature with him speaking Cadence again yet completely loses his cool when Big Mac enters the scene. Seems all to....convenient that Big Mac attends the same party in which both Shining Armor and Cadence is in. Did Rainbow Dash skipped out on purpose so Big Mac can go instead?

So I just finished Forbidden Fruit on fanfiction.net like you said, and I am contemplating the possibility that it is the best fanfic I've ever read. I'd say this is up there with Anthropology and Eternal in terms of quality.

I was afraid to read this, the emotion always seems to get to me. This one wasn't as heavy on that but out enough of an emotional investment into itself that made it great. One question though, did Twilight and Applejack have a falling out because I can't recall? If they didn't and Shining called her a hick I at least hope Twilight would be pissed off.
Hilariously glad that Celestia is putting a hoof down on this one and shows some serious emotion, it felt good.

Meh. It was alright. Starting to get a little boring, considering divorcing the favourite button on this story. It feels too fast-paced and not planned out well enough. If you actually add in a bit where Cadence hangs Rarity and kills her, then I will be very much interested.
1567461 Original Sin might be right up your ally then. It's Shining's side of the story and pretty much has more detail to it. And yes it has Cadence wanting to rip Rarity's head off in there.
