This story is a sequel to Pleading His Case
Two and a half months have passed since Thorax the changeling approached Princess Cadance and Captain Shining Armor, the two rulers of the Crystal Empire, and pleaded for them to allow him to live under their rule and become friends with them and their subjects.
Now, Princess Cadance has a surprise for Thorax: She's invited Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends, the very ponies who inspired his decision to leave his hive and live a more peaceful life, to meet him and hear his story.
This is a "mid-quel" to my story Pleading His Case, and takes place two weeks before the events of the second chapter.

Interesting chapter, though I think there's one inconsistency. You say at the beginning there are six mares (mane 6) in the room, sitting around the table for eight (the extra two chairs presumably waiting for Cadance and Thorax), and later there's Starlight there too out of nowhere

This really isn’t surprising behavior for Rainbow Dash. Honestly they should be glad she didn’t rush out of the room and attacked Thorax in the middle of the conversation because one of her biggest flaws is her tendency to act without thinking.

That was still pretty Epic back in season 2 finale when they fought off the changelings
Cadance's smile changed to a small frown. "Thorax," she addressed him, "I can't say for sure what any of the seven will do once we introduce you to them."
Thorax went wide eyed. "S-Seven?!"
Cadance nodded. "Princess Twilight has taken on a pupil named Starlight Glimmer. She's coming along to visit as well."

Well this is a pretty interesting start of a story and it looks like Cadence is invited Twilight and her friends and this time there's no world problem and not only that this would be the first time they're going to meet with thorax and yeah the main six did not have good experience with them ever since season 2 but hopefully Cadence will calm them down first that thorax is not a threat well let's see how this will go
So it looks like Twilight and the others are here and basically waiting for Cadence to show up to make her announcement and it looks like she finally made it took a little bit longer and Cadence got to the straight point that there was a changeling here and the others aside from Starlight were pretty surprised and worried about this whole situation and Cadence try to reassure them that thorax didn't do nothing wrong he actually was improving and actually becoming good friends with the crystal ponies even Shining Armor was supportive of this situation but Twilight and others were still kind of iffy about this so it looks like Twilight and her friends need to discuss this let's just hope things we'll get situated

Well then things really got heating up between Twilight and her friends especially with Rainbow Dash yes everybody still remembers what happened at the Canterlot wedding that's something will never go away but the thing is you can't blame one changeling for the mistake of chrysalis maybe not all of them did not share the same idea as their Queen and maybe Kevin and thorax were the only ones actually wants to live among with the ponies and creatures so Twilight and the others wants to give thorax a chance and despite Rainbow Dash's attitude she gave in but she's not happy about this and thorax sort of overheard everything what's going on and he felt really scared doing this but he came this far he really wants to meet them so they can see how that he comes in peace and making friends well let's see how this will go

Oh wow that really escalated so quickly when thorax entered the room figures Rainbow didn't calm down and basically just pinned thorax on the ground shouting at him they basically had to restrain her and basically she's not coming down and it looks like Applejack just had enough with her friends attitude at this point and told her what she did was wrong and it looks like it worked kind of and it looks like thorax is feeling a little sick after feeling all that negative emotion but after that they continue introducing themselves to thorax and so far Things Are going pretty well even Pinkie Pie was very excited to meet him actually to throw him a party and not only that Fluttershy actually was concerned of him after what just happened and it looks like Twilight was very interested about his kind and how they function and everything and apparently she thinks that there's another way for a cure of their situation which I think we know what it is but that would be another story well I would say this is pretty good so far and I really hope that Rainbow Dash actually just realize that he really means no harm and I was hoping that Starlight would say something but I guess maybe that would be next time

I'm still working on it. A lot of my focus has been on my other story Fitting In Is Hard To Do. I have some artwork I'm working on to feature in the next chapter for that. Can't say for sure when I'll have the next chapter for this, but I should have it out before end of year.
I can already sense the overwhelming flood of regret RD will have after Thorax tells his story, especially when he gets to the part about the trial

No problem about the chapter being short, some people actually prefer it that way
On another note, if you're going to use colored text to denote who's speaking, it might be a good idea to try how the colors look on both light and dark backgrounds before assigning them definitively. For example, I use the light background and am struggling to read Fluttershy's and Cadance's color, and Rarity's is close to invisible, only avoiding actual invisibility by being on light-gray background. Also, Rainbow and Starlight seem to have the same color, or similar enough that it might be hard to tell which is which unless it can be inferred from the context. (And this is coming from someone who isn't colorblind - I can't even begin to estimate what additional challenges the various types of colorblindness might present in this setup.) It might not be much of a problem if you're going to use the colored dialogue sparingly, but if there's going to be a lot of it, reading that chapter could be challenging/frustrating to some people. Just something to consider.
