Is Apogee a canon character?

Depends on who you ask.
Most would say no.
I would say yes.

That... That was a ride for sure.... Thumbs up!

"Holy crap, Mom! What happened? It doesn't look like a crack house anymore! It's actually clean , like a cocaine house!"

I'm always shocked at how well adjusted Apogee is, considering the sheer, unmitigated hot mess her mom is in all aspects of her life.

"Well-adjusted" is subjective, considering most of the stories featuring her. :ajsmug:
But yes, it does make her a compelling character to read, and write about.

Drug mules? Please tell me that actual mules are involved.

To be fair, her parents are divorced and she lives with her father. Stuff like this is meant as a reminder of why.

Please tell me that actual mules are involved.

As it was originally written, there was. The protagonist was Molly the mule telling her story to a Royal Guard mare giving her a cavity search.

But while I was looking for a cover art, I found what you now see, which inspired me to change it from completely unknown OCs to known OCs; Apogee and Delta Vee. The addition of her daughter made it a more compelling internal conflict for Delta, and offered and alternative perspective to read and write from.

The character of Doretta was going to still be a mule, but got she changed to a gryphon because of the need for talons/hands. And the opening scene moved from a jail cell to a hospital room.

The only character element that remained unchanged from the first draft was Bosco, who I envisioned to look like the character, Street Rat, from S6E3: The Gift of the Maud Pie.

Damn good work then, because that's exactly the pony I was picturing while reading.

Good story. I'm glad you didn't make Bosco the stereotypical Latin American gangster, saying "mang" and "ese" and other standard movie lines Latin gangsters say.

Well, that's a nice way of exploring their characters beyond what we usually get.

I'll never play deep rock galactic the same way again

This was great! And I think it was a great move to make it known characters. I kinda wish Apo got some kind of similar treatment as Delta did, but only because she'd ask for it out of some kind of petty defiance against her mom about being "grown up"; but I'm not certain that's part of her character. Or if she gang banged the guys to get "pregnant" out of spite. But again ooc.

That was weirdly dark for your fic, usually they’ve been comedic and light-hearted even with the sad stuff. It’s nice to see some variation, tho.

How come you didn't tell me you wrote an apogee fic

Read it a while ago, finally have the chance to do a proper response, so...
yes, this was very compelling from beginning to end. I like Delta Vee's Junkyard story's characters quite a bit. Not just because they look very pleasant in the art style, but because they have such dramatic and fascinating yet realistic lives.

Granted, we've only known a fraction of the ponies in the cover of this old discontinued comic, but like I said, they have great potential in big world of flight-related science, and I would hate to see them being forgotten.
Shino would probably like that though he has shutted up...

Oh, where was I...the story. I also like the way you portray them. I'm no reviewer, but they feel genuinely fleshed out and real in the story here. And you're right about it being wholesome. I like wholesome stuff, especially in dark places like this one. And I've always liked the idea of working together to fight against forces as a family, so this one hit the spot for me, and made me reread this excellent story again and have extra thoughts.
The way you describe them walking with bellies full is amusing and cute in my head.
Appearently horses have much more powerful intestines that can obsorb those drugs which somehow even passed the twisty large intestine to the main digestion area that is the small intestine.
The broken egg is the one furthest in Delta's butt? Sigh, change the egg placement in their last trip and things might have been completely changed...
Happy to see Apogee adapting so quick and being such a great helper. selling drugs on campus like this and getting such a huge profit? Color me impressed.
Delta Vee is being grumpy and loving, and she puts here daughter's wellbeing first. She's working hard to get a life by sacrifice, and I can really respect this desperate mare.
Thanks for the tale, and keep up the good work!
