Dang. It didn’t really grab me in the first half, but this turned out pretty good once it got going. You really delivered on the hopelessness, the insanity.

Ok, so my explanation is that Vinyl is in some sort of purgatory because of what she did.My question is:is the"re-live the same thing everyday as punishment"or"re-live until you change something"?Hmm, honestly, hard to guess. And even though I know that this is how these stories usually end, I'd honestly like a sequel.Or at least an epilogue

When I came up with this ending, my first thought was that Vinyl was trapped forever in a purgatory. Then I immediately realized it could also be some sort of "Groundhog Day" cycle that was potentially escapable if she made better choices. I like this idea too because there are several instances you can point to where Vinyl made a bad decision. I asked my proofreader what the ending meant and she said the whole story was a near death fantasy that Vinyl experienced right before digging herself out after the avalanche. This would mean that she never did those bad things to Rarity and likely there is no supernatural element at play in reality which means maybe they CAN dig out or help WILL come. It's almost like getting a second chance with a clean slate which is nice by comparison. Weirdly, depending on how you look at it, the ending can be condemning and hopeless or redemptive and hopeful.

Vinyl awoke with a start as Rarity jostled her inside her nest. “Vinyl! Vinyl,” she shouted urgently. “They’re attacking the castle! Report to your post!”

This whole following segment was so funny and heartbreaking at the same time.

Appreciative whistle Did not see that coming. While not exactly a scary story, I was on edge wondering how they would (or wouldn't) hold out together.

there was a lot of interesting imagery in this, really held my attention

I really like that
Vinyl probably does not however
Well if and when she becomes sane again she'll be grateful she didn't really murder Rarity

Good story, very immersive.
Would it be too much to suggest posting the playlist as text, too? It might be useful to ponies who don't have spotify, but are curious what songs you recommend.
Not to be a nag (i hope) but FWIW tunneling through snow at a diagonal slope, actually works pretty well once the snow has consolidated. Also, I can't tell you how many times i wondered, how are they going to explain how deep the snow is? I guess if it wasn't real, you don't have to! Cheers, and hooves up.

That's a good idea. No one ever seems to notice the playlists posted as they are.

Well written, I definitely got that sense of hopelessness. Well, there are only a few ways that could have ended. Welcome to purgatory.
