Overall, I feel the story would work better if Aqua didn’t have such a shallow explanation for her past. Just gloss over it for now until you need Aqua to overcome traumatic event or confide in someone. Having it here, now, feels tacked on for no real reason.
And I know all about tacking things on for no real reason. My one and only story is just that, over and over. ;p

If you had the impression that Inkwell was partially blind, then that is my bad. She's supposed to have normal vision. Her eyes glazing over in this context is meant to portray being lost in thought.
As for learning magic while blind, some spells would help massively, like a dictation spell. Whereas others, like teleportation, would be too dangerous to even attempt. Not that Aqua knows that.

I'm a little slow on updates sometimes, but I don't think I'll be stopping anytime soon. It's good for me to continue writing this, as I want to get better at writing.

Alien is not neccecery human, but I think it will be human. I don't see "crossover" tag, so it's inlikely it will be, for example, Turian or Vulkan or shoggoth or something like that. Using original alien race is pain in the butt, so I think human will do.

There have only been ~3 chapters with sunny as the perspective. Alongside that, only seeing how something acts and the occasional coherent thought doesn't tell much of its history. When speaking of an event, the context for that event doesn't immediately come to mind, only the event itself, or a significant detail in that event.
The intent in making this story was for me to experiment and attempt a story that feels semi-disjointed. The idea of the unreliable narrator, but with multiple narrators that are all unreliable puts together a story more akin to real life than the average novel. I'm not good at writing yet but, in time... as all things.
Long story short, there's no direct mention of what Sunny was lying about, yet.
