Well even in cannon Celestia admitted she "kept" Twilight longer than she should have, this fic feels totally in character for the Princess.

I think someone credited ProbablyFakeBlonde in a mlp forum of some kind, but I didn’t include it because when I checked on their Deviant Art and a Pinterest page I couldn’t find the art, so either they deleted it or someone got the credits wrong.

This is a really heartwarming story. Celestia might not be Twilight's real mom, but she loves her as if she were her daughter and this really captured her fear of letting her go.
You got me crying in class. This story was beautiful, and a fantastic portrayal of Celestia. Great work.

I really liked the tiny seemingly insignificant things leading up to one idea, for example, the mention of spike’s snoring and the pitter patter of rain, then finding that spike had left already and that the rain had stopped, all leading up to the notion that time was passing too fast, just like with Twilight.
Huh, with the sad tag I expected there to be something much more somber about the ending. Celestia comes to accept being parted from Twilight and how their relationship must mature with Luna’s help fairly well. (Personally, drama feels like a much more fitting tag.) This story may have been totally indulgent on your part, but you shouldn’t apologize for writing the stories that you love.
