If you mean obvious, then yeah. It wasn't meant to be a surprise this time because that element was touched upon already. There still might be more going on than meets the eye, though. At the very least, it reveals elements about Sweetie Belle's psyche that she fears at this moment. The rest may be up for debate.

I don’t know about that. Equestria is on friendly terms with the changelings. The poneeesh might be totally chill with your new form. It does look better then the new changeling form anyway.
But why? Thorax even admitted to convince other changelings to change. Why would she be afraid of a changeling? Shouldn’t she be more interested in convincing them to change.
I keep wondering why starlight didn’t go with them. An adult to help them explain things.

I'd be interested to see Button's reaction and feelings if that were the case. Again drawing on my love of depicting dysphoria in fiction.
Though Button's body is seemingly empty. What if the changeling is stuck as a regular old raven? Or there was no changeling in the first place, and this body was either summoned or was just an empty shell? So many possibilities, I'm very excited to read more.
