I try to write Pinkamena in a way that explains her madness. It's not enough to simply be like, 'yep. She's crazy. That's why she does it. '
My Pinkamena, especially when inner light is brought up, is referencing her mental state and why she is as she is. Little glimpses into the way she sees the world in her mentally ill state and why she doesn't care about (most) others.
It continues in all 3 of the stories I've written to varying degrees.

This was surprisingly heartwarming all things considered.
I like how you show us both Pinkie and Cozy respective takes on the situation, and portray Pinkie as more of the thoughtful parent trying to bond with her, rather than having her act entitled to Cozy's trust and respect.
It's also nice that Pinkie's more gruesome activities aren't as prevalent here as they are in other similar fanfics, and they actually serve a purpose to the overall narrative of Cozy Glow not being able to trust her.

Pinkamena is about 50% why I joined the fandom and is 100% why I started writing fanfics. But, that being said, there is a line between boring, pointless tales of murder and gore and an actual story. I try very hard in any story I write with Pinkamena to have her as a vehicle to tell the story.
I love Cozy as her surrogate child and think the concept of two villains taking solace and comfort in each other is beautiful. As I posted once already, there are shades of gray and even the worst folks have things they care about. For Pinkamena, it's Cozy. Why she sees herself and Cozy as the only two real ponies is a mystery but she would do anything for Cozy. Because as long as Cozy is around she isn't alone any more.
