Yep, a cute Design
The Somnambula and Stygian scene reminded me of shinidage's take on their first meeting.
Nice to see Ashen's appearance.
Now mentioning it, perhaps that's why Beatrix was able to maintain her grip on the Necronomicon which was basically fused within her (the spirit not the physical book). She had been able to maintain her innocence by skipping a few years of her life, and with her adult body she had a higher mana reservoir, absorbing more dormant necro power while her innocence protected her from losing any control. Not to mention she had multiple beings inside her at any given point to offset or help her control any corruption.
Could Midnight and other innocent characters also retain control as long as they don't venture too far? I feel there has to be at least one generation before to help kick in some major genetic resistance (ex. Beatrix and Cerise who had their parents being very close to the Necronomicon or fought against it) but still innocence should provide some protection against maybe level one arts.
Favorite line?
Changeling go boom boom!

Yeah, Cerise's innocence is protecting her from corruption, most people would be twisted by that darkness which Penumbra fears would happen to him.
The problem is dabbling in the dark arts is addictive (It's like a metaphor for hard drugs in my lore, similar to Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer if you've seen that), in Sombra's case it proved all-consuming.
Flurry Heart in the Shining's Force series was an example of someone so pure the Necronomicon can't corrupt them, but she would never use the dark arts.

She did lock it up.
Kind of reminds me of how some healthy things like Bananas and Apples actually have venomous stuff like cyanide but it'll only take affect in excess levels like eating hundreds of seeds.
Only instead it's addictive dark stuff here.
Trixie's usage or Starlight's Force 1 Usage is the moderate/risky consumption before it becomes too much.
