"There's always a difference between friends and true friends."
~ Day 5 ~
Twilight was happy to wake up in the Ponyville library. A brand new day was dawning and she could feel it. But she noticed that once again, Spike had gotten up before her, so she went downstairs.
"Hey, Twilight," said Spike. "Your friends are waiting for you at the Sugarcube Corner. Come on, let's go!" When Twilight and Spike arrived...
"Surprise!!" all of her friends suddenly shouted. Pinkie Pie had set up yet another fabulous party!
"You're the best, Twilight!" said Pinkie Pie. "This party's just for you!" Twilight was touched.
"You didn't have to do this," she said.
"Aw, of course we did!" said Pinkie. "We're so glad you're here to stay!" Twilight came to tears of joy. Later that afternoon, she was back in the library, looking happily out of the upstairs window near her bed.
"Spike," she said. "Take down a letter."
"You got it, Twi!" said Spike.
"Dear Princess Celestia..." And as Twilight narrated her latest letter, she was seen going around Ponyville interacting with other ponies and resuming her daily lifestyle.
"These past few days may have been miserable for me, but it taught me one of the greatest lessons about friendship I could ever hope to know." Twilight is seen partying at the Sugarcube Corner with her friends, along with Mr. and Mrs. Cake and the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
"Friendship is such a wonderful thing, but it can be easy to break apart and hard to put the pieces back together. However, being there for each other no matter what happens can always make a pony feel rest assured, even if it takes being overwhelmed to get somepony to notice your problems." Twilight is at Sweet Apple Acres sampling Applejack's applesauce. She then buys one jar for two bits. Spike is then seen greedily guzzling some applesauce right out of a jar, which makes Twilight and Applejack laugh. Spike, with applesauce on his face, laughs too.
"It is said that sometimes when friends do so many good things that when they do one bad thing, they're showing their true colors. But I learned that this is never the case, especially when friends are truly sorry for their mistakes. And although there's always one or two things that just can't be agreed on, differences make our friendship so much stronger as long as we learn to embrace them and discover what us ponies are truly made of." Twilight is having a picnic with Cheerilee, Fluttershy, Big Macintosh, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders. At one point, Fluttershy and Big Macintosh are talking, when the Cutie Mark Crusaders suddenly nestle in Fluttershy's mane, making them both laugh.
"I still feel down every now and then. Just thinking about bad times we've had makes me sad, and sometimes I just wish that they never happened because of how much they hurt. But I know this. My best friends will always be there for me... to love me... to comfort me... to show me how much they truly care for me. And they make me happy." Twilight is seen feeling sad in the library, which is likely stemming from the lingering effects of PTSD, and Spike notices. He then gets Twilight to notice that all five of her friends have come for a visit to cheer her up. They all cuddle up and share a group hug. Even Spike joins in.
"I'm glad that I got to learn so much about friendship and how much of a difference it made in my life. And although my friends have been so nice to me, more than ever before, it's actually good to see that some things in Ponyville haven't changed. I certainly wouldn't change a thing. I'm happy. And even though I can't be with everyone I love all the time, I don't think I'll ever feel alone again." Twilight and her friends, including Spike, are all having a picnic together. They then see the Cutie Mark Crusaders running past them wearing their capes that Sweetie Belle made, off to try and find their special talents for the umpteenth time. Twilight just smiles seeing this. The six friends then share another group hug.
"Always, your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle." Back in the library, Twilight finished narrating her letter and Spike sent it off using his special delivery dragon breath. The green smoke flew out the library towards Canterlot in the distance.

*takes a bow* Yeah, Black Kyurem sometimes amazes even himself.
Hehe, thanks. So it helped that Black Kyurem had it all typed up first before he started. I guess that's the way Black Kyurem goes at these things.
Well, that was very good work overall. I generally liked this story and it pretty much summed up my grievances about the season finale. That said, I would like to point out the elephant in the room that you ignored and the plot hole it opened up.
Shining Armor wasn't fooled, he was under mind control!
So, at the very least, he gets a pass by way of bamboozlement.
Otherwise, good work.
1239256 I wouldn't call it an elephant, it is a plothole but a smaller one.
He may have been controlled but even then the words hurt, he left her when she needed him most.
Complete alienation is extreme, but it is very real to assume the relation is tainted.
The other unresolved thread is the political revolution. Yes it's twilight's story but is odd that we have Celestia saying "Look we have a place for shelter, Let's build something," and nobody says "hold on, why are we still doing what you are saying?" although
Not much Black Kyurem could do to wrap that one up, I'm afraid. He didn't want to dwell on the side story for too long, so Black Kyurem just decided to have Celestia remind her people what really matters in Equestria. And was Shining Armor really controlled the entire time throughout "A Canterlot Wedding, Part 1"? Black Kyurem knows he was in Part 2, but his eyes weren't exactly glowing green in Part 1. Either way, there was a lot of audacity in the original episodes as far as things went.

You need to get a proofreader to touch this up. Then send it to EQD.
1239413 You're right about the impact it has, but the story goes and treats it as though it was something Shining was doing on his own free will and that he shares the same guilt as the rest of the Mane Six and Celestia. The fact that he was under mental enslavement at the time (which, come to think of it, might leave him in need of some therapy himself) never even comes up. In a way, Shining was as much of (if not more) a victim than Twilight. Cadance should know better, since she was the one who actually had to snap him out of it.
1240273
It is an honor for you to think so. But for starters, Black Kyurem must edit this and change a few mistakes my brother pointed out. But since you mentioned it, Black Kyurem will consider it, even if he's not a brony himself.1240273
EDIT: Image for Chapter 2. Again, if anyone notices anything grammatically incorrect or whatever, please notify Black Kyurem so he can fix it.
1240378 Black Kyurem wants you to know something. Okay, so what if Shining Armor was brainwashed when he said those awful words? In any case, Black Kyurem did mention that Twilight's friends didn't care. They put the fake bride ahead of her and didn't stay behind and say "Oh, why did your brother say those awful things? Sure, you acted mean, but you don't deserve to get kicked out of the wedding. We need to work this out somehow." See what Black Kyurem means? So, brainwashed or not, Black Kyurem doesn't care. Mean, mean, mean. Besides, there's no way Shining Armor could be brainwashed for the entirety of Part 1.
1240408
There are folks on the site who can help you with that. Proofreaders and People willing to proof-read might be a good place to start. They helped me out with my fic.
1240440 Um yeah, he pretty much was, in the form of constant "headache cures" and I never said that this excuses the way Twilight's friends acted, just Shining. There is being deliberately mean and then there's being mean because the freaking Changling Queen is subverting your consciousness so that she can harvest your love for power. You treat as though nothing of the sort was happening and Shining wasn't getting zapped Celestia knows how many times a day for his "headaches."
Gret job my friend, you've done a great job at expanding on where the epilouge of "A Canterlot Wedding" left off.
@SuperPinkBrony12: For starters, Shining Armor is a prince by marriage, everyone knows that. According to the toy merchandise, he and Cadance are co-rulers of the Crystal Empire.
@moguera: Then, apparently, Twilight's friends and Celestia could not tell the difference. And the point is, no one bothered to listen to her when they should have. A lot of previous friendship lessons were "negated" that day all because Twilight's friends were suckered in by someone who was nothing but smoke and mirrors. If they were really Twilight's friends, they would have listened and taken precautions.
1240491 That's a very good question. Black Kyurem doesn't know the answer to that one. Either the cycle repeats itself, or Twilight gradually learns to trust no one. But Black Kyurem admits, you caught him there.
Honestly I'm disappointed with this ending, all the chapters in one day is awesome but the way it closed the story made it feel slimmed down. The crowd being satisfied with Celesta’s speech seems strange as it offered no solutions to the problems presented nor reason not to depose her. This combined with twilight's symptoms disappearing strangely fast and a pauperize party for someone with PTSD? Sure, surprise someone who believes there friends to have sporadic undependable behaviour...
In short this story had the one thing I dislike second most amongst stories, creating a story with massive potential and then cutting short of actually achieving any of it. Lastly since Twilight [appeared to] have(s) other psychological disorders already, why were none such issues addressed in the scenes with the psychotherapist?
Black Kyurem thinks this comic makes it seem like Shining Armor was in his right mind at least when he said all that stuff.
The point of leaving such things unresolved is that they don't just go away overnight. It's something that people have to work and strive for every day. In this case, Twilight would be having to cope with her current condition for a while longer while Celestia steadily works harder to ensure the well-being of her people. As for things happening on the turn of a dime, Black Kyurem wanted to at least get Twilight on her hooves again instead of just writing 5 to 10 more chapters. For starters, Black Kyurem did span the story over five days. Black Kyurem knows some things aren't gonna cut it, but no one's perfect. Black Kyurem sure as hell is not.
1241825 Black Kyurem doesn't care about excuses. It doesn't matter because no one else thought Shining Armor was being far too harsh nor did anyone protest. They all walked out on Twilight like she deserved it so that makes them just as bad. If Shining Armor was really out of control, then someone should have said something like "Shining Armor, what are you saying?" Black Kyurem for one still thinks that Shining Armor let his own judgment get in the way, and so did everyone else. It comes to Black Kyurem that not everyone who's seen the episodes has grasped the bigger picture.
1. No excuse for rudeness EVER, so none of Twilight's friends should have passed off the fake bride's rudeness as nerve.
2. If Shining Armor had been brainwashed this entire time, he like Cadance would not have recognized Twilight and would have been just as rude as her. The imposter failed to copy Cadance's memories and even if she deliberately made Twilight suspicious of her just to set her up, that still cost her because a real villain would not do that.
3. If this was a test to see how well Twilight's friends have learned their lessons, Black Kyurem gives them all an "F" for jumping the gun on Twilight by just assuming she was trying to spoil her brother's wedding when in fact she was trying to save his skin.
4. Again, it doesn't matter if Shining Armor was brainwashed, Twilight's friends should not have abandoned her and there are hints in Part 2 that they didn't care about what happened to her.
5. While it's true that Shining Armor could have used some therapy, Black Kyurem was focused on injury of the heart, not the mind. Who's heart was really broken on the wedding rehearsal night?
6. Black Kyurem well aware that no fanfic is without its flaws, and Black Kyurem is certainly not trying to make mine flawless, but all Black Kyurem is doing is trying to present the bigger picture before we start busting out the disagreements.

1249813 Apology accepted, Captain Needa.
Oh? You never saw the original Star Wars trilogy? In Episode V, Darth Vader uses his famous Force Choke on Captain Needa and kills him, then apologizes to him for previously messing up. So, it's just a little fun joke.
1252993 Yeah, Black Kyurem could have done that, but you might say Black Kyurem wanted to get into more than one aspect of the after effects regarding the terrorist attack on Canterlot, especially since nothing could be done about it in the original episodes and the Mane 6 were supposed to be the heroes, but failed because everyone save Twilight was a total douche bag. Can you say "I, Robot"?
1271986 Fufufu... which one?
1272145 Why thank you. Of course, none of the artwork belongs to Black Kyurem, mind you, but yeah.
1253546
Option three would be to have hinted at growing rebellion, and then dealt with it in a sequel that has time to deal with the issue properly.
What a wonderful story. As already said, the thing with the revolution is a bit odd ^^ but, nonetheless, this was great !
1279079 Black Kyurem didn't know how to tactfully solve the 'revolution' to be honest. That speech from Celestia was all Black Kyurem could come up with, hehe. And thanks.
1279060
Why yes, let's!
1315288 Fufufu, U mad, bro?
1356339 Hmhmhmhmhmhmhmmm... Indeed. 50 episodes of buildup and trust all comes crumbling down. Black Kyurem agrees with your comment.
Can I have your permission to post this in the Non-canon tearjerker section on TV Tropes?
1362512 Hmm... Okay, but on one condition. If credit is due, ONLY if credit is due, give credit to "Black Kyurem". Please and Black Kyurem thanks you.
1360761 Tragic, isn't it? Continuity is such a bust.
1381320 Considering Twilight's situation for much of the story, Black Kyurem is surprised this is much of an issue. But from personal perspective, to be brutally honest, Black Kyurem doesn't see how Shining Armor was ever "brother-worthy".
1360761 well said my good sir
1399837 Continuity is such a bust sometimes, isn't it?
1474876 Aww... Black Kyurem feels sorry for you and sympathizes.
1240378 Sorry but I feel I should point out something:
At the wedding, it was VERY clear that Shining Armor was under the Queen's control If the eyes didn't give it away, then his seeming inability to speak is a clear sign, as he's been pretty chatty up until this point. Thing is, when he said what he did to hurt Twilight, I believe that while he WAS weakened, he wasn't as gone as he was during the wedding. I've been married before, so I can tell you that the stress of a wedding CAN irritate you and make you do/say things you wouldn't normally do/say/ (NOT justifying his behavior at all here. Just sayin.) Add that to his weakened mental state (again, NOT justifying his behavior) and the stress of (seemingly) being the only one able to sustain that force field around Canterlot and you have somepony who really doesn't wanna put up with any crap from anypony. To be completely honest, though, it wasn't what he said/did in the ep that pissed me off, it was what the other Mane 6 and Celetia did, and then only AJ actually apologizes! Also listen to the tone Celestia used when she scolded Twilight. Now go back and listen to the tone she used with Discord.
So yeah. They all knew what they were doing, and I actually really hope the aftermath of this is at least mentioned in Season 3. It would be interesting if it causes the Elements to malfunction due to Twilight feeling... Well, like she does in this story.
1479829 Black Kyurem agrees with you completely. But you should know that Black Kyurem once tried his best to make his aunt who was getting married more calm and it... helped. So that wedding went through with almost no hassle and all was well. But yeah, Black Kyurem agrees and says you are right to be pissed at Twilight's friends. Because even if Shining Armor snapped against his free will, Twilight's friends agreed with his hurtful words without a second thought.
Oh, and Black Kyurem made this meme:
cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/250x250/28151888.jpg
But it would not surprise Black Kyurem if Hasbro did not bring up this severing in unity again. Black Kyurem would be disappointed, yes, especially with director Jayson Thiessen.
the pictures were a nice touch
1502736 Of course they were.
1616642 Read these.
This is one of the best fanfics I have ever read. The way Twilight's friends and brother treated her at the wedding rehearsal was harsh and I can't believe that Twilight forgive them so easily at the last Season 2 episode. I was expecting Twilight to say what Bruce said to Alfred in The Dark Knight Rises about him expecting to destroy his world and then think they're going to shake hands. Imagine opening your heart for the first time in years to somepony you thought you can trust and then to have a sword thrust into your heart by the same somepony. This fic should be made as an episode that takes place before season 3.
1780891 How very kind for you to share this opinion of yours. Mentioning this horrible night again in the series is the only thing that can make it better, mainly because it wasn't handled/resolved in the best way, but it appears only Discord would be capable of doing so. After all, he LIVES for disharmony, yes?
1780938
Thanks. And I have to complement you on the nightmares that Twilight have in the story. Celestia turning into a changeling and her hallucinations of her friends as changelings could mean that her subconscious is telling her that they are all pretending to like her just like how the changelings pretend to be those you love.
In fact, I did have a drawing of Twilight's nightmare: http://tan575.deviantart.com/art/Banishment-309901278
The inspiration for this came from watching the wedding rehearsal scene. Twilight having found out how easily your friends can turn their backs on you. What will it take for them to hate you? Then again, we should remember the episode Ticket Master. They all shower her with favors just to get the extra ticket. What happens if Twilight don't have anything special to offer them?
1780993 Wow, Black Kyurem didn't really think of it that way, so Black Kyurem used unintentional symbolism. Cool!
That's a very good drawing you got there.
Yeah, that's why Black Kyurem thinks that if Discord doesn't bring this up, who will?
1356339
Soundtrack version. The lyrics you mentioned for Twilight start at roughly 1:55.
