If the question is still relevant, I can offer an option: after visiting Ponyville for the first time, Trixie was angry at Twilight Sparkle for surpassing the showpony and embarrassing her. But after the second visit (with the alicorn amulet), when she saw the kindness and compassion that the then unicorn possesses, she begins to reconsider her views on Twilight, gradually awakening romantic feelings towards the purple mare. Having gone on another trip, Trixie overcomes herself and becomes stronger in order to attract the attention of her beloved, but the next return to Ponyville shocks the young sorceress, shattering all her hopes for a relationship with the now alicorn. It is in such a desperate state that Starlight finds Trixie and makes friends with her and, inviting the latter to the castle, "fires" in the service of the mistress, which again encourages Trixie to act.
