A Chaotic Wedding

The Wedding

Fluttershy looked at herself in the mirror of her small cottage. She was dressed in a white wedding dress with a green floral trim. A veil was pulled back over her mane. Her friend Rarity looked at her with a smile as she saw Fluttershy in the dress she’d made for her. Besides the fashionista pony, there was also her Mare of Honor Rainbow Dash as well as her flower fillies, the CMCs, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootalloo all with their flower baskets. Sweetie Belle had hers in her green magic which caused her basket to hover while her two friends carried theirs in their mouths. The young trio was growing up, soon they would be too old for this kind of thing. It would be their last time as flower fillies.

“Oh I’m so happy for you Fluttershy! I always knew Discord had a soft spot for you,” Rarity said.

Fluttershy blushed. She remembered how she had first befriended her husband to be. When she and all her friends had freed him from his stone prison and she’d let him spread his wings a bit. How they had slowly bonded. Most of her friends had been distrustful of him. There were times when he’d crossed the line though, like when he’d handed them over to Tirek, or posed as Grogar and united three villains against them in an attempt to boost Twilight’s confidence. But they had forgiven him on both accounts.

“Thank you Rarity. You know, I never thought that I would ever get married. I was always too shy to ever approach a stallion,” she said.

“I’ll say. I never thought this day would come. I remember I once said you’d never win a stallion over. I guess I was right,” Rainbow Dash said. “Instead you end up winning a draconequs over. Ah well, I’d say you deserve a happy life for sure Fluttershy! Everypony does. It was super awesome of you to make me the Mare of Honor as well!”

“Well you’ve been my friend for the longest,” Fluttershy said. “It was a hard choice out of all the girls but… well- they’re all my bridesmaids.”

“I’m perfectly fine with Dash being the Mare of Honor darling. I’m very proud of you. Getting married is such a big step. Oh, I hope I run into a stallion soon that proposes to me!” Rarity said. “I could just faint to have that happen!”

Rainbow Dash sniggered at her fashion friend’s drama. “I’m gonna go and take my place with the others. See you outside!”

“I nearly fainted when Discord proposed,” Fluttershy said to Rarity. “When he did… I… I just flew away! I couldn’t believe he actually wanted me as his bride! Shy little me! Why in Equestria would he ever want me as his bride? Then Twilight told me she thought I was the kindest pony there was and that Discord was more lucky to have somepony that could forgive all the things he’d done?”

“Yes, well he should count himself lucky we all forgave him!” Rarity said. “I’m not sure which is worse, him betraying us to Tirek or uniting that centaur, Cozy Glow, and Chrysalis against us!”

She made an angry face at the thought of those two events but then let out a breath and put on a smile as she looked at Fluttershy again.

“Well, are you ready?” Applebloom asked with a mouth full of her basket handle.

Fluttershy blushed and gulped.

“I don’t know,” she said.

“Darling, you’ve overcome your shyness plenty of times,” Rarity said. “I saw you stand up to a dragon when it pinned Rainbow Dash down. You can be really assertive when you need to.”

“And it took some effort every time,” Fluttershy said. “I guess I… I just have a timid nature. Some things just can’t change no matter how many times you go through the experience.”

Suddenly the door to her cottage opened, everypony looked and saw nopony there. Then they looked down where they saw Angel Bunny in a suit. He pointed outside with a frown, telling her it was time to go.

“Well, I suppose I better go darling. See you in a moment,” Rarity said as she walked outside.
Fluttershy stood there for a moment as the CMCs went to the door, stopping just short of its way out. They watched as Angel hopped over to her. He said something only she could understand.

“Umm… okay. Thank you Angel,” she said.

He smiled at her. The CMC’s were curious as to what Angel might have said but it seemed to have gotten through to Fluttershy because she looked at them with a smile.

“I’m ready!” she said.

They grinned, and without further ado, walked outside. Fluttershy’s wedding was to be held just outside her cottage. All her friends, pony or otherwise were there. The students from the school of friendship, Treehugger, her coworker at the animal sanctuary, all her animal friends, even former enemies like Gilda or Garble. Her best friends, however, stood at the very back near Discord. Mayor Mare stood ready to perform the ceremony.

Fluttershy walked down the line of attendees. The CMC’s skipped along the path, throwing flowers as they did so. Discord snapped his fingers and birds chirped musically as she walked, butterflies flew around her as well. Fluttershy smiled at it. She made it to Discords side and the ceremony began.

“It is my great honor to join Mare and… Draconequs… in holy matrimony!” Mayor Mayor said. “Do you Discord, Lord of Chaos… take Fluttershy as your lawfully wedded wife?”

“I most certainly do!” Discord said.

“And do you Fluttershy… wielder of the element of kindness… take Discord to be your lawfully wedded husband?”

“Yes… with all my heart!” Fluttershy said.

“Then I now pronounce you… mare and… chaotic spirit!” Mayor Mare said. “Now, please present the rings.”

Spike who was standing by Twilight’s side, came forward and held the rings out. Discord took his ring and put on his clawed hand. Fluttershy’s had been put on a necklace which Spike wrapped around her neck. She looked up at Discord who smiled down at her. She spread her wings and flew up just high enough, then wrapped her hooves around him and planted a deep kiss on his lips. She then heard a snapping sound followed by rain falling. She felt only a few drops hit her before she looked and saw chocolate rain falling from the sky. Then Discord put an umbrella up to cover them.

“Oh please make it stop!” Rarity begged. “I didn’t make these dresses so you could get them soaked in chocolate!”

“No keep it coming! This is tasty!” Pinkie said as she stuck her tongue out to get as much chocolate as possible.

“About what you can expect from Discord’s wedding,” Rainbow Dash said.

“I agree. Fluttershy is gonna have an interesting love life!” Twilight said as she put up a magic shield to ward off the rain.

Author's Note:

Well here is the story of Fluttershy and Discord’s wedding. This was done as a request by Chazkopa who wanted a story like this. I probably could have done more with Fluttershy being well… shy. But I think she learned that lesson of overcoming fear too many times in the series. Also I’m not sure there is quite enough chaos to fit the title, but its what Chazkopa wanted when I asked.

I'm gonna be frank.

I think this story is more exposition than it is romance.

I mean, you do have the right idea, but you spend time on Fluttershy recapping her life than showing Discord and Fluttershy's romance.

At times, I feel I am reading a synopsis more than an actual flowery love story.

Please don't be discouraged by what I say. You did put in effort.

But you need to really follow the rule of show, don't tell.
