The long and short of it is that Nova is a political hostage. However, even the Storm King isn't a big enough idiot to prevent her from attending something like this. So he brought her with him in an effort to keep his eye on her.

What basically ended up happening was that, in exchange for the Storm King leaving Seaquestria unmolested, the Queen gave herself up.

If the UN can gather so quickly on a regular basis then they're complicit in the suffering caused by every 3rd world dictator.
And that's before you consider the local power level. He's not called the Storm King for nothing. In this universe, he could wipe Manehattan off the face of the map in a massive hurricane with only middling effort. He's an ass and a tyrant, sure, but he's also not running concentration camps. There's a certain cold arithmetic you have to do as a leader. They've come to the conclusion that if they were to force the issue into open combat the amount of suffering and lives lost in the conflict would outweigh the benefits of trying to dispose of him.

well after binge reading ive finally reached the end and can't wait to see what happens next
This series... wow. I've binged it in just under 36 hours and it's one weird emotional ride. I've throughly loved it and can't wait to see it continue.
Now I've got an observation to make and hopefully you can forgive me for the blut bad perhaps rude nature.
Not to put you off and far be it from me to judge someone's faith but the sudden invocations of Christianity were initially jaring and broke the suspension of disbelief for me. But as it read the series it was almost like I was watching someone dealing with a crisis of faith and identity. one that partially mirrored my own. Course mine left me with an initial loathing and has still left me with a bitter taste even if I'm a bit more speritual and open than your average atheist. where as this one seems to trend towards a more open and accepting faith.
not an issue or judgment just an observation / question on if I'm reading things between the lines that aren't there. Im mostly just curious if I'm projecting my experiences on to the author here or if I'm in anyway accurate in my assessment.
The other thing? Thankyou for writing about mental health so candidly. Even though I'm well on my own way to health some how the ability to see that others have survived that pain helps.

If I'm feeling of a philosophical bent, I might say art is a double sided mirror, reflecting both the artist and the observer. It's no exaggeration to say I wouldn't have been able to write this series as I have if I weren't in this exact point in my life. I've never not had faith, but as I've grown older, I've been wondering more and more often if the interpretations offered up by others are lacking. The ever fallible nature of humans makes me wonder if things were lost or misunderstood, and this pondering has manifest itself in no small manner in this series.
As to mental health, as someone who's struggled with my own mental illness my whole life, the idea of trying to pretty it up, of treating it with anything less than absolute candor is obscene to me. Exaggerating it or downplaying it, both are equally repugnant to me.

If this is going to be an anthology you should put the Anthology tag on this story or in the description because some people may come into this thinking it is a linear story only to find out it is not makes some people quit the story because some people just don't like anthologies or don't like being surprised that the story turned into an anthology out of nowhere.
Great chapter classic Bakugan was my jam when I was a kid so glad you chose the classic over the reboot.
