Update! The best to happen all day today. Even if i bite the dust tomorrow i enjoy this chapter today
Recovery from Clop? 15 min tops normaly!
Combat makes more sence though... Here we go!
Power of 'TEXT TO SPEECH ACTIVATE !'
Oh we are the valiant infantry. We're the alpha team with passion and camaraderie...
Magnificent chapter! I loved it ♡
I would say with certainty that you will make the original Creator proud once you run out of pre written chapters
Love the attention to details. So i guess they shot/slice up the fallen now and start their long way to safety?
Sooo... Could a parasitic Cloven hide in food? I would hate to think the Cloven are smart enough to infect cooks and let them hide Cloven Parasites in the Griffon meals... Especially since Griffons don't cook their food and eat it raw...
Next time in
Dragon Ball ZFeathered Hearts - Continuation and Chronicles:
ZERRRRRG RRRRRUSSSSSH!!!
Tara can spill all the beans about humanities weapons... What are they gonna do? Bann her from earth? Lol
Don't the marines have incendiary grenades?
Putting all the corpses in a pile and putting one ot two of the grenades on top do burn through the whole pile?
Do the reloaded the used brass with crystal tips or something equally badass?
Looking forward to the next chapter, this was a very good evening read.

EDF EDF EDF
Ahhh, i actually wished it was a longer chapter, i read 30k long chapters here, and i am ok with it, but oh well, i'll have to wait XD.
Why do I now have a mental image of Giraldi doing the DI role (the Kurgan as a DI...) from Starship Troopers?
Questions, questions.
The parasites seem to be still alive after the host is non-functioning. Are they permanently attached to the brain and will eventually die or can they detach and walk away?
Does the Hive know this group is dead and how they were "killed"?
Will we eventually hear the line, "I say take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."?
If we don't see that line at least once by the end of this story, riot.
11120751
Not likely, they're not going on a search and destroy mission, so they have no reason to carry that. Later on when reinforcements come through? Consider it a guarantee that they will bring White Phosphorus and napalm back, wouldn't take long to determine that the Geneva weapons restriction will not apply on a world extinction threat, though the US never signed the agreement. By the time that embassy sends the message back home, DOD is gonna be dusting off flamethrower manuals and figuring out how to restart napalm mass production. Hell, they wont have to deny the M303 anymore, just send it through.
The US is the only nation in the world with a zombie plan so they probably considered what they can with body disposal thoroughly, maybe with a better idea.
As for the brass idea, they might find a better way for them to use, but that's still months if not years away from their R&D reaching an acceptable standard.
11120751
Gilda don't want to burn the body because the Heat vision of the Dragons would be triggered.
11121091
First alike for you'r question and humor.
Second damn good question but a Specialist Unit is probably only dead weight at this point. They recyceling the bodys remember?
No nukes, first environmental damage, second no orbital nuking maschines if they vearly get rifles trough the portal... and ladt but not least: Love the referance and it fits very well.
11121102
Alone for the shit and giggles Marco will bring the line... Probably in the Duel against a Griffon or when the
Zerg, Bugs, Cloven of the Sun attack a Village / City.11121213
We get that coming soon enough...
By the way, very stupid to pull out something this massive out the woman. Better risk poisen than bleeding out...
This was the highlight of my day, thx for the update.

Ha-haaa! (^.~)/)'(\(^-^)
so I have a theory in the original of the story I had this theory that the dragons were doing a scorched earth move and trying to do a halo ring and wipe out the cloven/flood's food/hosts and now I am sure of it with this chapter
11121631
Bloody hell! Thats actually a great theory! Especially since they can see Body heat and corpses are cold...
Winter must be a bitch for Cloven Parasites to keep their freezing bodys active...
So their fighting magic tyrranids? Shit.
11121091
From the description of the legs burrowing deeper into the brain of the corpse, it seems likely the parasite would die too--but with the Cloven being a hive mind, it's not as if the individual bug is needed at all if the host corpse is incapacitated.
As to the head shots destroying the brain, with all the shrapnel of bone and bullets flying through the jelly mass, all that crap would likely fuck up the parasite, too.
This should make things a little tougher for the Marines, though. They, like the Army and LEOs, are trained to shoot center of mass rather than go for headshots. After all, enemy heads are much harder to hit and given that blasting their center of mass is equally lethal to anything currently on Earth, exclusively going for headshots in the middle of combat just isn't SOP. Some members of the team could be expected to fall back onto their training rather than keeping the current situation in mind in upcoming engagements.
11120572
Please don’t! You’ll want to see the ending, after all.
11120574
Recovery from clop in terms of being able to clop again, perhaps, but I find that for writing it, it takes a bit longer before you’re ready to go again. You need both physical and emotional energy available to do it.
Thanks for the sharing the link on my last blog. Hopefully some folks will find it useful.
11120606
Well, I’d like to think I do, anyway. No idea what happened to him, but I hope whatever it was, he’s doing well now.
Pretty much!
The Cloven are plenty smart, but no, it’s not that simple. Nor is clear (yet) whether they could take over a still-living host, but if they could...
11120631
I can very easily hear that in Kyle Hebert’s narrator voice! Ah, if I could get him to introduce and sign off my chapters like a DBZ episode...
11120601
Just be sure and join up with the Roughnecks! But don’t expect to survive your stay!
11120751
Worse. They’ll ban her from Facebook and Twitter!
You’ll just have to wait and see.
Only problem there is, you’d be lighting a beacon for the heat-seeing dragons.
They don’t exactly have reloading supplies with them, but that said... there are ways that griffon and human tech can be combined you’ll be seeing later. A hint? The griffies might have a way to boost Marine firepower further.
Glad to hear it! And appreciate the comment.
11123567
To Quote the fastest Pegasus ever: "Awesome!"
11123568
I feel like an EDF crossover with Starship Troopers would be pretty amazing.
11120825
Damn... Necromancy... I want to learn it
The possibilitys are so wide in it's use like in my Marksaline storyline.
11120784
Well, Blue Angel this ain’t. Damn, I miss that story...
I tend to reserve longer chapters for climactic scenes, but not always. For example, the next chapter will be at least 13.5k words long. Will that do you?
11120956
Well, he’s not quite the same personality. And he’s not going to be breaking limbs or throwing blades through the hands of his recruits to make a point.
If you challenge him or slander someone close to him, he’ll put you down painfully, though. We haven’t really seen that part of him demonstrated yet, but you saw how he was willing to get the faces of the Paladins before he knew who they actually were.
11121091
I will provide what non-spoiled answers I can.
They’re not alive, or at least that one wasn’t. As to why the lion twitched, I would offer as explanation this scene from Lord of the Rings:
Once embedded, they do not detach, nor do they generally need to. Parasites are expendable to the Cloven as many can be created quickly, given their small size. In other words, they’re basically Cloven TIE fighters, and even if only a small fraction of them find a host, that’s still a lot of walking corpses.
More or less, but that’s all the Cloven had in the immediate area. They want human hosts, doubly so once they see what human weapons can do.
I’d say that’s obligatory, along with a certain line from near the end of Starship Troopers.
11121102
Well, since I don’t want my readers to riot, it will definitely be included.
Actually, I only just saw Starship Troopers for the first time yesterday, so I finally know what line they’re talking about. It was good and gory movie, needless to say. The only thing I’m still confused about is what Marco being Filipino has to do with calling him Rico.
11121213
Reinforcements will come, but maybe not the ones you think.
I wasn’t aware of that. Interesting.
If a long war with the Cloven apparently winning became clear, and there was a definitive threat they might cross the portal, then yes, I could see that happening. But like they said here, you don’t want to fight a long war with the Cloven, because they can gradually turn your own knowledge and population against you, using them as fuel for their war machine. I’ll talk more about this over PM with you if you like.
We have a zombie plan? Once again, I wasn’t aware.
The griffies or especially the Minotaurs might be able to duplicate it given enough time, but there is no time with the Cloven attacking. That’s not to say they can’t come up with some interesting improvisations and ways to combine human and griffon tech, though.
11121296
You know, I just watched Starship Troopers for the first time yesterday. Unabashedly R-rated; delightfully good and gory. I enjoyed it immensely and I now see the similarities to the story a lot better.
Yeah, though the one thing I didn’t understand was why they didn’t use ground vehicles like tanks or APCs instead of exposing everybody out in the open when they were at a marked disadvantage to their enemy in terms of strength, speed, and surviveability. For Mobile Infantry, they really weren’t in comparison to their enemy.
11121350
You’ve very welcome!
Flurry Heart will beat the Cloven with cuteness alone.
11121631
Interesting. In the original story, we never heard from the dragons after their initial appearance in chapter 5. I’m not sure if DEL was planning something with them later, but they basically just disappeared. As for your theory, you’ll get this story’s answer next chapter.
11122055
Pretty much! You’ll learn more about their origin and where they came from later.
11122092
Exactly. The Parasites are very cheap to produce and highly expendable. Like I said in an earlier comment, even if only a small fraction of them finds a host, that’s still a whole lot of corrupted corpses to contend with.
Indeed it would. That’s the point. And even if the parasite isn’t killed, it can’t detach itself because it’s now permanently dug into the body, but can’t manipulate it with a destroyed brain or severed nervous system.
It’s a valid point. But tactics will necessarily have to change when shots to the chest or even a severed limb aren’t guaranteed to stop a Cloven-controlled corpse from coming. We already saw that with the grass lions who kept trying to crawl or limp forward after even after they’d been peppered with 5.56 FMJ rounds.

It’s lifespan is very short to begin with, but it doesn’t have to be long because the corpses it controls don’t last long either.

11123583
As the Starship Troopers story was left unfinished at the end of the movie, they really should have done a sequel. I’m not familiar with EDF, though.
11123612
Read the book. Movie is good, but the book is better, imho (especially with fewer nazism). Just remember that it wasn't written to be a war novel, but rather a person's idea of what a better government is, circa 1970s. Very much a meritocracy-heavy libertarian view of things.
Juan "Johnny" Rico (the main character) was Filipino in the book, go figure on why they changed that for the movie and anime (probably a political move). Funny enough, that line never actually said in the book by a character. It was a quote used as an intro (I think that's what it was, it was a quote just under the chapter title) to a chapter.
11123612
Their are 4-5 Movies of the Universe two are computer drawn. I had two of them on DVD. Note to self: Get my former friend punched in the face for not returning them before changing the country
Type in youtube american zombie plan in and you get some good some silly and some downright stupid things One of the videos was so bad i feel my brain hurt when it apparently try to think down to it's level As far i can tell, Tanks and other viacles are to limited in mobility, the Arachnids are strong enough to rip tanks apart so only Jeeps would make sence with Miniguns mounted like in the Halo Universe. Outrun the enemy or shot/blow them to pieces...
11123632
To summarize, the Japanese SDF takes on hundreds of thousands of aliens and bugs.
11123596
Ah, I see. It was this line that confused me.
I thought the parasite was making the noise but it was just the noise of the removal itself.
11123805
Gotcha. I’ve clarified the line now to make clear it was only partially separated.
11124115
Are the parasites still alive but unable to move? Just wondering...
11123572
That's why you set the explosives of when you leave and not right away.
11124237
Once they’re embedded in a brain, that’s it--they can’t withdrawal. They survive for a while, but ultimately, their lifespan is short, as is the time their host corpse remains usable.
11124376
Good point. I’ll see about them using that later.
How good are drum magazines really? I know the space they take is a lot bigger, but not having to reload must be a big boon. Still did i see one video that suggest that only heavy maschineguns profit from them... But i did see Pistol and Shotgun drum magazines before. I think it was for the A12 Automatic shotgun and a Glock for Drum Magazine with a reinforced frame to withstand overheating better.
Thrawn would be awesome to have now. Just never let him get catched.
Time to load the bugspray into something more modern and go for a bughunt:
When villainous masterminds play god and lose control.
It's a war of extinction now... no compromise what so ever.
