Fallen to the Dark Side

Twilight watched the black mare in the darkness with a smile. The moonlight reflected on the Goddess of Darkness, bringing a mysterious touch, but at the same time, beautiful. Twilight couldn’t help but smile when she saw the same mare she had defeated at the Summer Sun Celebration. Ever since she saw Nightmare Moon at the celebration, she had fallen in love with the Goddess of Darkness, mainly because she wore armor that gave a touch of power, and also by the calm and seductive voice that made the unicorn feel enchanted.

Nightmare Moon, on the other hand, watched Twilight with a wicked smile, her blue mane flowing like light waves from the sea. The Queen of Night never imagined that she would meet again the mare that defeated her on her return to Equestria after a thousand years on the moon, but here she was. She needed to confess that she never imagined that a subject would remember her after being banished on the moon for a thousand years, but that would mainly be able to defeat her, and that was something that caught her attention. Nightmare Moon slowly approached the unicorn, without taking away her power posture.

“We meet again, Twilight Sparkle,” said Nightmare Moon, spreading and flapping bat wings before closing them.

Twilight let out a small laugh, placing a hoof close to the mouth. A pink flush appeared on her cheek. “It seems so.” She never imagined that she would see Nightmare Moon a second time, but here she was: in front of her.

When she got very close to Twilight, she put a hoof on the unicorn’s chin. “Now, Twilight, how about we enjoy my beautiful night with a night flight and then watch the stars in the clouds?”

“I would love to, princess,” Twilight replied. Nightmare Moon removed her hoof from the unicorn’s chin and cast a spell on Twilight’s hooves so that when they reached the cloud, Twilight would not fall when she stepped on it. She then went on the balcony with Twilight and looked at the purple unicorn.

“Get on my back,” Nightmare Moon asked. Twilight did what the black alicorn said and wrapped the front hooves around Nightmare Moon’s neck.

Nightmare Moon spread her bat wings and flew across the starry sky. Twilight closed her eyes and let out a slight breath as she felt the wind blow against her mane. She felt free, as if she were actually flying. Opening her eyes, she decided to look down and realized that she and Nightmare Moon were high in the sky. Most of the houses already had their lights out, and there was no one on the street. She never realized that Ponyville was so beautiful at the top. Of course, she had already flown in a carriage, but flying over an alicorn? Now this was something else entirely!

After an hour of flight, Nightmare Moon landed on a large cloud and closed her wings. She looked at Twilight and said, “We’re here, Twilight. You can get off my back now.”

Twilight released her hooves from Nightmare Moon’s neck and stepped on the cloud. She blew out a surprised breath at the view of the night sky. She could see the stars and the moon up close, it looked like she could touch them with a hoof. And on top of that, the moon brought a light in the cloud that they were in. They were a little distant from Ponyville, because of the location that the cloud was, there was no home.

“I see you liked this place,” said Nightmare Moon with a smile, noting the smile on Twilight’s face.

Twilight looked at Nightmare Moon and said, “Like it? I loved it! This is simply the best place to watch the stars!”

“Yes, this is really one of the best places to watch the stars,” Nightmare Moon agreed.

Twilight and Nightmare Moon then sat on their hips to watch the night sky; both with smiles on their faces. Twilight never imagined that she would be watching the night sky over a cloud. Most of the time, she watched the night sky through her telescope, but she was amazed that she was watching the night sky in a cloud.

“I never imagined watching the night sky from a cloud would be so wonderful,” said Twilight in a tone of admiration. Nightmare Moon took her eyes off the night sky and looked curiously at Twilight.

“Have you never been on top of a cloud to watch the night sky before?” She asked.

Twilight looked at Nightmare Moon and said, “No, but I’ve been on top of a cloud before.”

“Really? When?” asked Nightmare Moon, now curious.

“When my friends and I were invited to watch the pegasus fly into the arena in Cloudsdale,” Twilight answered.

“Who won?”

“Rainbow Dash. Although she was unsure of failing because Rarity was bragging about her butterfly wings, she managed to win. In the end, Rarity learned something about friendship,” Twilight replied, before looking back at the night sky.

Nightmare Moon also returned to observe the night sky, but a doubt began to arise in her mind. Twilight had said that here was one of the best places to watch the stars, did that mean that Twilight watched the stars very often? She needed to know.

“Twilight, I have a question,” the black alicorn started, looking at Twilight.

Twilight took her eyes off the night sky and looked at Nightmare Moon curiously. “What is your question?”

“You said that here it was one of the best places to watch the stars, does that mean that you ever observed my night sky before?” asked Nightmare Moon.

“Yes, since i was a filly,” Twilight replied with a smile. Nightmare Moon was surprised by her answer.

“H-have you been watching my night sky since filly?” Nightmare Moon asked in an emotional tone. Twilight agreed.

“Yes, and I even studied astronomy,” Twilight confirmed. Nightmare Moon could feel tears forming in her eyes, she felt speechless about it. Never and no pony enjoyed her night, but was Twilight now saying that she appreciates her night? A smile formed on her face.

“Thank you, Twilight,” was all that Nightmare Moon managed to say. Twilight raised an eyebrow confusedly.

“For what?” asked the purple unicorn.

“By appreciate my night. I thought that no subject appreciated what I did,” Nightmare Moon replied.

With a smile, Twilight comfortably placed a hoof on the black alicorn’s shoulder and said, “But now you know you have it.” Nightmare Moon could only smile at that, she never imagined that Twilight enjoyed her night. She thought that all her subjects enjoyed the day of that annoying Princess of Day, but Twilight was the opposite: she enjoyed her night. She felt appreciated about it, knowing that at least one pony valued what she did. They then went back to watching the night sky.

After an hour, they stopped looking at the night sky and lay down on their abdomen in the cloud. Twilight had her head lying on the cloud with her eyes closed, but she did not sleep, while Nightmare Moon just watched Twilight relax with a smile.

Twilight let out a breath, relaxing in the cloud. She never imagined that lying on a cloud would be so comfortable and soft. Although she knew she was in the cloud with a villain, she didn’t seem to care so much about it, because Nightmare Moon’s company was making her feel good.

“This cloud is so soft and comfortable to lie on...” said Twilight in a relaxing tone.

“Yes, but it is much better with a company,” said Nightmare Moon with a seductive smile. Twilight let out a little laugh.

“You are talking about me, aren’t you?” She asked with a smile.

“Of course, who else would I be in?” Nightmare Moon replied, now lovingly stroking the unicorn’s mane. Twilight in response, just stood on the cloud in silence, just enjoying this cute moment.

After five minutes, Nightmare Moon stopped her affection when she heard Twilight yawn and began to snore softly. The black alicorn just observed Twilight’s sleeping form with a smile. She couldn’t help but agree that Twilight was cute sleeping.

“May you have sweet dreams, Twilight Sparkle. Cause just like the night, our love will last forever.”
