I think my favorite thing about this was the perfect way it encapsulated a child's ability to turn anything into a game and make it epic.
I can't offer any suggestions or a critique for this. Good flow, grammar, style, characterizations, idea, and execution. There was enough humor and DAAWWWborable to keep it "flavorful."
I think you may have hit upon something here if you were looking to continue the story. "The Misadventures of Twilight & Spike" perhaps?

Honestly, whether this matters or not, but this story does prove you have enough "grasp and creative license" to pull it off and make it brilliant. Keeping such a broader story in mind, it felt like I was reading a chapter from such a story. Again, good work!
