I think this shows just how a minute change can cause a ripple which ends up turning into a tidal wave. I also wanted a big shock surprise ending. I hope you also enjoy the complexity surrounding everything here. Chrysalis' spies worked out the perfect timing to catch them off guard and have planned this for months. The war also gives me great excuse not to allow the CMC back to Equestria anytime in future and finally with AJ and Rainbow both pregnant neither will be able to volunteer.
Okay, that was extremly shocking. Still, Ihave to addmit that this was a brilliant move from Chrisalys.

Oh, I'm all for som butterflys flaping thier wings. Far to many dont actually tacke in to account what would happen to a world if you introduse or remove charackters and/or events. Seeing someone doing it just make me like the story more.

I will be sitting down this evening and over the course of the next week reading book two and working out a plan. It may take me ten years but I plan to write every single year as long as people continue to want me to.

This made me laugh more than it should have.
Well now, that ending...first, I do like it, the wedding is still a fairly informal affair. Reminds me of my own, actually in a way. I think we took less than two hours, and we weren't fancied up, as it were. She hates dresses, I don't like dress pants, so it was t-shirt and jeans for us. Really pissed off her family, it was great.
Regardless, the pacing is okay, the time skips, used to cover up that final twist are an interesting decision, though I had to read it twice to put the events and implications in order. Not a bad thing, but still it can make the first read feel a bit wonky. Only complaint with it would be I would have made it so he let AJ and RD impregnate each other, rather than being the father himself. Like a sort of wedding gift thing from him. While he still gets Fluttershy with one in the oven.
That said, it's not a terrible thing, and it means the kids won't be 'alone' per say as they grow up with odd abilities, which, as we've seen in the HP part of this crossover, can have some nasty consequences growing up. Heck, that is Tom's whole start of darkness.
All that out there, the final bit. Yeah, not sure how to feel about it, but mostly because that's setup for something else, not payoff, so a lot of my feelings will be tied into how it goes from there. Looking forward to reading the next book...oh, and if you're curious for the time between this comment and the last one, got distracted by another fanfic, a 'Rational' style fic...for Dragon Ball. It's called the Optomized Wish Project, and it's really weird, but if you've watched Dragon Ball, it's that in a good way.

Yeah, this bridge didn't get received as I liked and I took that feedback on board and kind of cut of any extension of the Equestria side story early in book 2. All I will say is book 2 only gets more and more chaotic and diverges a lot more from canon. EDIT: And hmm, well they were drunk when it happened so who knows?

Well, those edits certainly made things even funnier than they already were. Leave it to Celestia to come up with yet another unorthodox way of pacifying an enemy
