No one's ever really gone.

Sequels1

T

This story is a sequel to CRISIS: Equestria - Divergence

Golden Dawn and her sisters have succeeded in sending Twilight Sparkle and her friends back to their home. Their father's plan to destroy a goddess of evil so that he could take her power for himself has also succeeded, and he has ascended to a higher plane of existence. Before leaving them behind in this mortal realm, he gave them a crucial task: undo the damage that he had done to the world; make the northern lands a better place.

The sisters' work is only just beginning, and they must now forge their own places in the world, grow beyond their status as altered clones of Twilight and her friends, and venture out from under their father's shadow. They must learn to make new friends, find love, and live their own lives.

But unbeknownst to them, a dark force slithers beneath their hooves, seeking to undo everything they've accomplished and to take vengeance upon those who have wronged it.

Hey, it's back! I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store.

Oh boy, nothing like a bunch of crazies left to run amok murderating everything.:pinkiecrazy:
These ones are far from not being resourceful, though. I wonder what they're going to cook up if left alone long enough.

The first twin added: "And never before have we been treated with such… silence, in the aftermath

I think you forgot some punctuation at the end here.

Grey's situation is kinda sad. She always kinda hung back less involved in the first place, but now she's got almost nothing left. Hope whatever's between her and Flathoof is a start to something better.:applejackunsure:

Havoc's situation amused me the most out of the six. She gets to spend all day doing one of her favorite things in the world: kicking metric fucktons of ass.:rainbowlaugh:

Nothing on the shady brotherhood from earlier yet, but I have a strong suspicion that they'll try to strike at this peace deal whenever it starts to happen later.

Let me start by saying I almost never comment on anything. This may be my first comment on all of FIMfic. I started reading the original crisis equestria when it was on Google docs and was devastated when it apparently died, only to discover years later that it was back and being finished on fimfic, then it just kept getting better as you released a sequel, some side stories, and now a whole alt reality version, which is absolutely delightful. Crisis:Equestria was among one of the first pony fics i ever read and plays a large part in my continued enjoyment of these delightful horse words all you wonderful authors put forth for your readers. Just felt I had to say all this, and hope to continue enjoying these fantastic tales on this site for years to come. With nothing but warm wishes and fond regards, ThatBeardGuy

10729851
I appreciate this very much, especially that you're making your first comment on this site to say it; that means a lot to me. I'm glad you've enjoyed CRISIS over the years and hope you enjoy it going forward. :raritywink:

I'm wondering if Gray will take the big jump, and follow the family to hopes point.
Will she be willing to leave her sisters of follow her love? Or even admit to herself that she'd be following her love?

I don't like that silence. Curaçao doesn't sound like she's surprised, she sounds like she just realized something is very wrong.

It's nice seeing Blackburn, Crossfire, and Gadget again, really pulling for those two to have less untimely fates this go round. Congrats Havoc, if there's anyone who needed to get laid, it's her.

I wouldn't call Havoc smooth per se, but I can't argue with results.

So I am a brilliant individual and forgot to track the story in my favorites (although I swear I did) and now I'm several chapters behind after noticing things got really quiet.

Guess now we know how things transition from the group going from Pandemonium to Hope's Point. I'm concerned for the family though. If things are going to get as action packed as I expect, it's likely the baddies are going to leverage them against the group.:unsuresweetie:

Speaking of the bad guys...

Dawn shook her head. The Treasurer was an odd one, that much was true. Nopony else on the Committee was so quick with a compliment or a smile, even the three members secretly loyal to her. Not to say that they didn't compliment her or smile, no, but it was always from a purely professional standpoint regarding her brilliant plans and decisions. Only Vendetta ever complimented her appearance. Strange indeed.

Man, is it just me is he being super sweet on her? He wants something, ranging from favors to probably even getting under her tail, I dunno.
And he's also super upset right now.
This is going to come back sooner or later.

Poor Gray, in the middle of trying to put some kind of meaning in her life together with Flathoof and now he has to leave her for an indeterminate amount of time. Life just gets rough, and Dawn isn't helping things with having no concept of social cues for how Gray is feeling, much less actually talking to her.

She kinda got what was coming to her with Havoc jabbing her into blowing chunks of the flight.:ajsmug:

Great to see the old crew coming back together again. Briarthorn, Gadget, Crossfire, Storm, and of course Blackburn. Looks like Briar is still having his health issues though. I hope him and the others have better fates in this timeline.

Curaçao paused on the other end. "Is this true, Dawn?"

Dawn nodded to nopony but herself. "It certainly seems to be, yes. Lockwood has essentially confirmed the truth of the matter, though there certainly could be a trace of deception present. Despite Havoc's tactless method of presentation, I believe her assessment is correct: you were misinformed."

There was another pause on the other end. A long pause. A very long pause.

"Curaçao? Are you there?" Dawn asked over the connection.

Havoc chuckled and clapped Dawn on the shoulder. "Heh. I think we broke her. Awesome."

Curaçao is usually one with something to say at all times. I'm not sure if she's actually been "broken". No, I think something else is up.:unsuresweetie:

Dawn is really shooting herself in the hoof with being so damned results-focused on the peace mission here. First she's snubbed Gray, and now Havoc, and it seems based on Blackburn's comments that it might have been beneficial to have Havoc there at the meeting. I feel like she might not be realizing it based on how she "ticks", but she's not doing herself any favors right now.

I hope Havoc herself doesn't end up getting into any bad trouble being left out by herself.

What an adorable, talented, and potentially troublesome group of children.

Man, Vendetta's a sleazeball.:trixieshiftleft:

Red Velvet is assembling her own X-Men team.

10763066
Would they be called the V-mares?:pinkiehappy:

10763066
I was thinking this too by the end of the chapter.:rainbowlaugh:

Well this is a tricky moral conundrum. The whole "I was just following orders" excuse doesn't hold water for sure, but given the situation I'm not sure what his actions count as. He wasn't murdering civilians, he took out the leader of the enemy forces, which is something you could reasonably expect in a long-term engagement. With the length of the conflict, I'd actually be surprised if this is the worst crime one of their agents committed.

Then of course there's the matter of saving face. Killing a monarch is a pretty big deal, and it's gotta be mandatory to demand revenge for it. It's either "New Pandemonium was willing to sacrifice one of their own to the enemy" or "Hope's Point was willing to let the Queen's killer get away" and either looks pretty bad. Assuming anyone would ever actually hear about it.

I wonder if Dawn's actually starting to take a hint about her approach to the peace process. Then again, judging by her thoughts at the end...

That was a well deserved verbal beatdown she got from Havoc.:ajsmug:

"I was, actually!" Velvet giggled. "I was having lunch with her and Shroud, and then she stopped to talk to you guys. I didn't know what it was about at first since I wasn't in on the conversation, but then she just fainted!"

"Oh shit, she fainted?!" Havoc exclaimed.

"Yeah! Only for like a second, though, but the news you guys had for her got her good. I can't believe Lockwood pulled the wool over her eyes like that!"

Okay, I was totally wrong. She actually did get floored by the sudden reveal. Priceless.:rainbowlaugh:

Poor Dawn, she needs to start talking to her sisters, because Dad seems to be busy.

Poor, tortured unicorn pony... :pinkiesad2:

Looks like the cultists are planning a move now, but it's yet unclear if they plan to strike at Pandemonium or at Hope's Point.

Dawn is still being abrasive and single minded but I hope she takes Insipid's insight and attempts to help her to heart. At least it got her in contact with Silvertongue again.

That exchange there at the end between Briarthorn and Red Velvet had a grin stuck on my face the whole time, then she threw that casual 4th wall break my brain didn't even know how to respond, I actually had to go back and reread it to make sure it happened.
As always a wonderful chapter, thank you for still writing this delightful universe you've crafted.

10798410
I was surprised too, guess she's got a bit more Pinkie in her than you'd think.

10798739
Velvet doesn't swing that way. :pinkiecrazy:

What a lovely little wedding.

...If only I could shake the looming feeling of dread I've got in the back of my head about what may come...:unsuresweetie:

10798951
But does it even count with a clone?

Actually, I don't want to know.

10798965
I think that would just make it really, really elaborate masturbation. Pinkie might know after that whole mirror pool incident if that happened in the crisis verse.

A short period of everyone doing well, except Gray who really just needs to move already.

Also hundreds of ponies have been going missing lately but whatever.

Go get them Dawn. I know this is who Dawn is, but I'm a little disappointed that Dawn seems hell-bent on not even having good friendships in her life.

Time marches on. Many things change and some stay the same.

Really do have to wonder if Havoc got a little bit of Fluttershy's nurturing nature there when it came to handling Bluebolt.
That was just precious.:rainbowkiss:

Pedigree seems to have made a decent transition from cold scientist to instructor over the year. That's a positive. Unfortunately, Dawn's results-driven personality rears its negativity yet again, this time affecting some of the students. I sense this and Velvet's resolve is one large step closer to the rest of the group bringing it up to Dawn.:unsuresweetie:

I'm getting seriously worried about Gray. She's definitely suffering from some form of depression and it hasn't gotten much better over the year. Plus, once again, Dawn isn't making things any better. It's good to see that her other sisters are aware of this and I hope whatever plan Curaçao has in mind works.

All of the earth pony students had good stamina, this was true—she'd taken notice—but Green was far and away above the rest. Stronger too, and if Pedigree was right, tougher as well.

Yeah, she thought. This kid's special. Flathoof would like him…

Happy ending with Gray x Flathoof + adopted son Green please make it happen:rainbowkiss:

Poor Insipid, stuck with a lousy night with an egotistical actor. Glad to see she's got enough self-confidence and more independent thought now to get herself out of the situation.

"Over the past year-and-a-half, there have been many reports of disappearances in several different parts of the Mid Districts. While my agents have yet to determine if they are all connected, we have naturally noticed the increase in volume, and frankly, it's been disturbing. I even had the agents working the cases look deeper into it, and we found that the Outer Districts have dealt with the issue as well, and in much higher numbers."

The cultists are on the move but at least the Committee is noticing the missing ponies and looking into it. Wonder what they'll find and how soon.

Also, that dinner between Dawn and Vendetta could have gone in such a worse direction than expected. At least, I guess. I expected that slimeball to make a physical move on here at some point but thinking about it, what could he really do to assault possibly the most powerful unicorn of the realm without being atomized? At least now she's aware of his advances and hopefully knocked enough sense into him that he doesn't try anything like that ever again.

Man...so much trouble and conflict here constantly leading back to Dawn, all her doing in the name of achieving the Peace Accords. I swear, there's just going to be one big event, one massive pivot point that centers on all this and things are going to go in the opposite direction and come crumbling down.

Isn't there?

Dangyou write faster than I can read these.
Lol

To tell the truth, these chapters were all already written and uploaded, I just publish them weekly to give them room to breathe on their own. I'm writing the chapters for the upcoming third book now, in fact, and usually take a few days per chapter, so this release schedule even gives me time to catch up on the next set!

10816225
You're awesome at this.
I have trouble keeping up with once a week uploads.

I audibly let out a 'hnng' at that last bit, and I had a big dumb smile on my face. You absolutely love to see it.

This entire chapter was ridiculously feel good. Even when you threw in that last part about poor Velvet, Caramel comes in to crank the feels back up to 11. Those kids are really something special, in a class all their own. And now I keep picturing Pedigree doing a Prof. Xavier Cosplay with all the students...

I predict Sunspire will be the first one to experience teenage rebellion syndrome.:ajsmug:

Nice to see Pedigree has been doing a good job with the kids. I was worried how things would work out since he's sort of evil.

"Ambassador Gray Skies, welcome to Hope's Point. I trust that your journey was a pleasant one?"

Welp, gotta say, I think that Curaçao 's idea was a good one.

Gray shifted her wing to glance back at the colt, who she gave a small smile to before turning back to Lockwood. "This is Green Guard, my protégé. It's a complicated situation, but that's what I consider him."

And she brought Green, too!:rainbowkiss:

"Yeah, Flathoof's always talking about how flexible your militia is." Gray paused, then her eyes widened. "Wait, you mean—"

"What's so complicated about that?" Flathoof then blinked and looked between Blackburn and Lockwood. "Wait, you called me here on official business. I thought I was being assigned as security detail for the new ambassador from up… north—" He blinked again. "Oh."

Gray grabbed his hoof and led him towards the door, her face redder than ever. "You heard His Majesty, Captain. My quarters. Now."

Oh yeah, real good idea.:rainbowwild:

"You're looking at the new owner of the Mid-East Rockets," Havoc said, rising in her seat. "I bought the rights to the team name, put in the application to reform the team, and even bought the old training facility and hired a crew to start putting it into tip-top shape. The Rockets are back, bitches!"

Yay, happy times for the Rockets! Don't know how well they're going to do now that neither Rainbow nor Havoc are around to play, but seems like the lives of the team are looking up.

Poor Velvet, a victim of her own vices and magical abilities...:pinkiesad2:

Her hooves moved so quickly to embrace Caramel that she didn't even realize she'd done it, pulling him in for a hug so tight that she was afraid she might hurt him. "I would love to be your mom, Caramel…"

"And I'd love to be your son… Mom…" Caramel— her son returned the hug earnestly.

Velvet started crying again, right into Caramel's mane.

Well, at least things aren't all bad. D'awww.

Five Years Later

Hoooooo boy that's a time skip.

Green smirked as he and Flathoof exchanged the funds and property cards, then shook hooves on the deal. He loved playing board games with his family—because they were his family now—no matter how competitive they got at times.

Yesss!!! Gray x Flathoof + Green! :pinkiehappy:

While Flathoof then busied himself buying houses to put on his new property, Green smiled then passed the dice to his left, over to the little filly playing with them, Rosewater. "Your turn, sis."

:pinkiegasp:
*gasp* Plus one more? Yay!:yay:

"Ten days…" Gray breathed. "Hard to believe that we're just ten days away from making this peace thing a reality. Shame it took so damn long, right? I mean, better late than never, I figure. At least my sisters finally got the job done."

64.media.tumblr.com/9dd7e11367b3359ebbb5d1e549720096/4c6d411853a3e462-eb/s640x960/9cd66004a374d3e4a56ca6d90210fae5a9d0b843.gif

"Are they bringing the kids with them to the treaty signing?"

"Yeah, just as a courtesy from Lockwood towards your sisters, since this is kind of a rare opportunity. I don't think all of them have met Bluebolt and Fireglow yet, have they?"

...With all the foreboding feelings I've already been having about attacks during the peace accords, I'm not having good feels about the young ones being there...:unsuresweetie:

Even so, he and his fellow classmates still sat at attention as Overseer Pedigree finished prepping the video screen for the presentation. He said it was about "puberty" or something like that, and while Caramel was certain that he recognized the word and knew what it meant, he didn't really understand it. Some of the smarter students seemed to get it and started to snicker a little, so he assumed it was a funny topic.

Ohboypuberty.

With a sigh, the Overseer added, "And I know it is unlikely that I or your other caretakers could ever be successful in preventing any of you from engaging in sexual activity as you mature."

Yeah, part of me feels like this is going to inevitably happen at some point.

Insipid cleared her throat to get the fillies' attention. "Girls, it isn't proper etiquette to, like, bicker and argue at a social function, especially over minor things like who can, like, read faster or whatever. Major unfresh. Now, apologize to each other right now."

Insipid has full-on turned into a valley girl version of Rarity and is running tea parties. And I love it.:duck:

I'm liking the dynamic of the kids and the skyball team. Also, the school is definitely feeling more and more like X-Men.

Rebel excitedly raised a hoof. "Coach, are the Rockets really planning on going pro next season?"

Huh...sounds like the Rockets found a way to make things work out if they're still around anf planning to go pro five years later. Wonder how they did it?

"I do wanna see my friends…" Jellybean hummed, then nodded. "D'accord Mama, I'll go."

D'awwwwww. Little French filly!:rainbowkiss:

"Sorry, I guess I'll have to watch it later tonight," he said, hiding his disappointment. "I've got a lot of work to do for Miss Dawn, and it's going to take me a few more hours to do."

"So? You can take a break for a lil' bit then come back to it after lunch, can't you?" Spots asked.

Sunspire shook his head. "Sorry, but no. Miss Dawn wouldn't like it if I delayed my assignments for self-gratification."

*sigh*...Once again, Dawn's negative influence shows...At least Serendipity doesn't appear to have turned out the same way. And, judging from what she's said about the others under Dawn's tutelage, it seems that fortunately others haven't either. This makes Sunspire seem to be the odd one out.

I wonder, could this mean that Dawn actually changed in the past few years? Sun was the first under her tutelage so it seems like he might have been under the largest influence, explaining why he is the way he is. But the again, I don't know. On the other hand, Dawn doesn't seems to have gotten more involved with Gray's life over the past few years, though that could also be out of necessity of her position/job.

...Just what is she up to right now anyways?

Wouldn't it be just perfect if Dawn gave him her own version of a friendship assignment? Not that I think she will...
And once again a nice slice of life chapter. Too bad there's no way that treaty goes off without a hitch, mayhap the sandstorm is Nihilia's doing?

Well, I guess we've got an answer now for what Dawn's been up to.

I see young Hourglass continues the tradition of Chronomancers being Britishishish. Or of the Commonwealth.

"Like this?" asked Hourglass

Punctuation missing here.

"We've got a problem. There's an imbalance in the world's Light/Darkness levels. I don't know what the hell that spike was, but it looks like it was the cause of it."

"Don't you mean 'Law/Chaos'?" Hourglass asked, sincere as ever.

Heh, callbacks.

She frowned as memories came flooding back, of happy times spent at the side of the best friend she'd ever had, the only pony she'd ever developed stars-be-damned feelings for, all knowing full well that the fate of two entire worlds depended on ensuring that they never saw each other again. She'd done a good job over the years avoiding reminiscing about Twilight Sparkle… but sometimes she couldn't help it.

Oof. Still feeling it years later. Badly, by evidence all over this chapter.:ajsleepy:

Hourglass stayed silent a moment, then turned her attention back to the elevator window. "Bloody hell, it's not any less weird today than it was when you first picked me up. I used to be older than you, but here you are now, nearly twice my age and still considering me the only friend you can talk to. Bonkers is what it is."

WIBBLY WOBBLY TIMEY WIMEY STUFF

"Heh, learning about everything from a book, huh? Reminds me of—"
"Of what?" Sunspire asked, drawing Winter out of her temporary freeze.
Hourglass interjected, "A geek. You sound like a geek."
"Oh," he murmured, red with embarrassment.
Nice save, Winter thought.

Ouch.

"Well, a few days ago, something happened. The reports couldn't explain it, but all of the broods Hope's Point has been monitoring just went… crazy. The entire eastern half of the Wastelands has turned into a killzone; Gargantuans are tearing each other apart over there in a frenzy that hasn't been seen since, well, ever."

Gotta wonder what the heck darkness spike that was to even cause Gargantuans to go nuts. That's spooky.:twilightoops:

Rip, and tear. Until it is done.

It is a massive coincidence that devil trigger started playing on my Spotify as I read this chapter

I had been wondering if we would see Velvet's BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD mode, but that was not how I hoped or imagined...

Ah yes.
I can't believe I'd forgotten that Velvet can do...that.

I mean fuck how could I forget about that no lie years ago when C.R.I.S.I.S Equestria came out that scene freaked me out a bit I was part expecting you to have done something screwy with the google doc to where it would pull off some kind of jumpscare.:fluttershyouch:

I guess the best we could hope for right now is that everyone comes out of this alive. "Unscathed" is not happening.

You know, I found Pedigree interesting in the original time-line, but I never thought he would get as much development and screen time as he has given the way it went previously. It's quite interesting to see what's become of him with better influences, surprisingly strong parental behavior and a touching friendship-maybe-more between him and Velvet. Altogether another well written, and enjoyable chapter in the crisisverse, aside from Caramel's situation. Nothing good about that.

It's crazy how different Pedigree has turned out in this timeline compared to the original. Never would I have thought I'd see him as being somepony this caring and supportive for others.

A little friendship goes a long way, I guess.
