I know how hard it is to write a story in the present tense, so I certainly respect this. If this is what you want to write, then don't get discouraged by the dislikes. I can't speak from a position of authority, but at least I know that I've written stories since I was seven, and I'm 23 now. I don't think it's poorly written.
Just to do some backseat driving, I noticed two rather obvious errors at the end of the chapter. One was spelling "mandatory" as "manditory," and the other was using the incorrect form of "was" in the conditional clause. Of course, "were" should only be used if you're speaking about a hypothetical, like in the Swedish pop song "if I were sorry," not when you're talking about something that is currently happening, or will happen in the future. Ciao.
A well structured, finely written story.
The dislikes are for the tags, not for the quality.
Keep up the good work, it's refreshing to find a decent ongoing story in this day and age.
