In an attempt to put to rest a nagging question Twilight keeps bringing up, Rainbow Dash agrees to do some genealogical research into her family tree. Imagine her surprise when she finds out that Daring Do is a part of it.
In fact, Daring Do isn't some distant relative or lost cousin, she's the younger sister of Windy Whistles. A revelation that has never before been disclosed for reasons unknown.
Armed with this knowledge, Rainbow sets out to get some answers from none other than the newly discovered link herself, Daring Do. There must be a good reason why she's neglected to inform Rainbow of their shared connection all this time, right?
(An indirect tribute to Sir Sean Connery.)
Nice!
nice work
Von epic
One of the greats right here
She didn't have a choice you harpy...
Have we considered she might not know? Was there a falling out between sisters? Did you say who your mother was?
Sounds like you didn't know for certain unless you found out the same way as Dash.
Not much I can say beyond, one more, really good job on the exchanges, characterizations and general wrap-up in all the right places. And, yeah, the respectful nod to Sean Connery is a really nice touch. Yeah, considering Twilight was the one that got Rainbow into Daring Do in the first place, it makes sense that Twilight was the one to spot the possibility of Rainbow and Daring being related. And, yeah, really logical reasoning for Daring to use the "A.K. Yearling" identity and to write her stories as fiction (though Twilight and her friends have stumbled into stuff even more fantastic many times [Twilight especially]). And, indeed, the irony of Rainbow's mom being more outgoing than a world famous adventurer sounds amusing, but makes more sense than it should.
But, anyway, very definitely looking forward to more of your work in general.
Thinking about it, it's only during the fourth adventure with Daring that there was an opportunity for Rainbow and Daring to have some private time (as their flying after Fluttershy and the Doctor C) ...
The first time was a group meeting along with Doctor C's thugs, then there's the temple and a death trap (not a good time to slow down) followed by the temple's collapse and Daring going to finish the book ...
Second, the convention with Qubble, not much 'alone' time with Rainbow for family bonding ...
Third, Pinkie! ... and Doctor C ...
Fourth, Fluttersay going with Doctor C with the pair following ... Daring may well of thought of spilling the beans but would Rainbow have been right mindset?
Very nice! And good thinking, given they share the same design. Makes me wonder how Rainbow's parents would react
My sister did some genealogical research years ago. Turns out we’re related to Robert E Lee.
10636586 That must've been an uncomfortable discovery to make, though that does also mean you'd be indirect descendants of George Washington's family tree.

Didn’t really bother us. Honestly I’ve always seen it as meaning that I can say that I’m related to a historical figure.

Eh. Doesn't bother me that much, Lee was a war hero on the wrong side.
I kinda want to see this get a sequel where Daring and Windy end up reconnecting
Twilight, how about instead of trying to figure out if rainbow dash and daring do are related, you can see if you and moondancer are related.
Again Twilight, worry about your own family tree.
Daring Do Whistles. Boy, I would be making fun of her name on a daily basis.
Now you know not to stick your nose in people’s/ponies business.
I would love to see that.
Wait, so because they had different likes, it resulted in daring and windy drifting apart to the point that they don’t see eachother anymore? Please tell me there’s another reason.
Wow, some aunt.
Honestly, I probably wouldn’t want her in my life.
Well done, as always have a like
I almost thought there would be a twist where Daring Do reveals she's actually Dash's mother.
Would have had this video fit better:
The indirect tribute to Sean Connery comes from the fact that Connery played Indiana Jones's father in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (though that wasn't his most famous role), and Indiana Jones is at least partially the inspiration behind Daring Do.
I think it's a pretty nice tribute to Sean Connery not only that he was James Bond as well and they also did a parody of him and Saturday Night Live and I know it doesn't count but it's still kind of funny to mention that especially Alex Trebek mentioned that in the show lol
and also rest in peace to both of them
That is always raise a lot of question why rainbow and daring are the same we can argue that it's just a recolored skin but it has to be more than that but it kind of makes sense though Rainbow Dash is related to Daring Do and I guess the secret she's been hiding either she was just too embarrassed to admit it or anything but rainbow still wants to make it work even reconnecting with her sister Windy and Daring Do really did want to make this work as well again this was a pretty interesting one keep up the good work
