Eventually

>>Part 1 is complete and unedited, the following chapters are edited/up-to-date!<<

Equestria has always been full of rumors and gossip, cryptic history and old mare's tales, but just how much of it is true?
Reporter Quick and his Camerapony, Flash, are two washed up Equestrian Underground journalists looking for their next big story. When Quick thinks he's on to a dark conspiracy hidden in Ponyville's past the two find themselves embroiled in a plot much thicker than anything I'd be willing to consume in one sitting. Just how deep do secrets run in Equestria's past?

My first attempt at a story!
This is the first installment of what may or may not be an epic adventure, depending on whether or not you actually like it.
Totally shipping free!
This is the complete first installment, though it's rough and could use some serious revision (maybe).

Chapters (14)
Comments ( 6 )

In the odd event anyone actually comes by to read this:
I will likely break the entire first installment into its component chapters sometime in the future. What you see here is the original, unedited rough version.
Enjoy (I hope)!
PLEASE give feedback if possible!
Woot, 21 views. Don't know if anyone is reading this or if they just glance over it and get instantly sick to their stomachs and the fact that I don't know which slightly bothers me.
I'm just looking for some feedback or at least an acknowledgement that its actually been read.

1200049 Here, have an acknowledgement of reading! And a thumb! Me gusta!

Alright, update as of September 9th:
I'm adding the story in its separate scenes for a few major reasons -
Primarily it makes the story a bit more palpable to new readers who can bail out before having to dive into the whole 43 page behemoth.
Second, it allows me to make overall changes to the story bit by bit as I go along.
The original version will remain as-is for personal reasons, the up-to-date text will be in the individual scenes. Every time I update this, I'll leave some minor footnotes here. If anyone has bothered to read anything here and actually enjoyed any of it, I don't intend to quit (if anyone conversely felt it was an abomination and brings shame upon the community, speak now or forever hold your peace).
I have the second installment planned and intend to start actual writing soon once I adjust to college stuff.

To my legions of imagined/non-existent followers, stay tuned for more Equestrian Underground.

There we are, I got one major change out of my way, fixing one particular issue that had been bugging me for many a long night. I changed the names of two particular characters, swapping one name to the other character and giving the original a new name possibly more suiting. For one, the swap is definite, but the new name is still a bit of a maybe. Since I had to in-place swap all of the names and redescribe both characters entirely there might be some minor continuity issues, though I'll hunt those down with a pitchfork later. To anyone who hasn't read that far I doubt it will make a difference, but to anyone who has read the whole thing or far enough to care I suppose it might matter and I also hope you see why I think the new names are so much more fitting though it did hurt to have to redescribe the one since I liked the original description so much...
Right now I'm more concerned with issues of continuity and the general story/various elements making sense. Some things I'd like to play out more (like the importance/significance of the diary... no spoilers, which I felt wasn't stressed enough since it might play a very important part in later parts) and some things I'd like to rephrase, but I'll get to it one piece at a time.
For now, here's version 1.1!
The full text, as always, remains unedited.

Glad to know there's someone else along for the ride. I hope you enjoy it so far, I know I'm no literary virtuoso, but I'd at least like to give someone something to enjoy. I look forward to slowly refining this into a cleaner, better version of itself while I slowly piece together the second part while no one's paying attention...

To all who are reading this, or who enjoyed the first part, I have officially started work on part 2 (of a currently intended 3) and am excited to announce a planned release date sometime before the end of the winter, perhaps during xmas break if I'm diligent. I've got a rough idea of how this one's going to go, and a rougher idea of how the 3rd will proceed as well. As for finding a friend willing to help me edit part one, well I've yet to succeed in getting someone to do so, though I've had occasional promises. Once part 2 is nearly finished, I'll go over part 1 to check for continuity, which is one of my biggest concerns.
Otherwise, for those who haven't read it, please enjoy, and let me know what you think.
For those who have, sit back, don your tin foil hats and wait quietly for future instructions.
In other words, be patient, I'm working on it!
