Ok most of this whole series runs around the number 6 so who's the sixth ranger? Both MLP and Power Rangers revolve and a group of six. There are very few Sentai series that start off with less than 5 and there are far more that have obvious six Ranger characters from the beginning. Tommy was only introduced 5 episodes in what is their morphing call what are the weapons and Powers. Why are none of the six actually training to fight? If they are maidens that's no excuse because you can still go the princess Shayla route. While not shown it's implied she was trained by Merrick in their downtime and when she actually fights near the end of Wild Force that's the fruits of her training. At least have Twilight or one of the other extremely powerful mares of six trained in hand-to-hand combat. Just cause if they can't bear arms to defend themselves doesn't mean they can't still can fight with their limbs. I mean there has never been a ranger that is strictly a hand-to-hand fighter. The closest we have gotten is the SPD Omega Ranger with his Omega charge abilities. They've always had weapons AKA arms so they can defend themselves. If you make a ranger who is purely hand-to-hand with enhancements instead of weapons that would be actually freaking awesome. You can have the maidens have ranger forms that are backup similar to the Spirit Rangers from Jungle Fury.
Well Shiny is going to be the brash one isn’t he? Hopefully his teammates will help him keep his head cool. Hopefully it will be Big Mac as the leader.

Blame Celestia. She required them to be non violent. So she basically made them into large soft targets that have one job and that is all they can do to help. It makes me wonder why it took this long for a maiden to get captured.

The reason in story will be explained later as to why the Maidens have to be pacifistic, but I'll be completely honest with you. I'm a HUGE fan of the damsel in distress trope, and this story is my love letter to it.
So, try not to think too hard about it. Besides, as you'll see in the next few episodes, pacifism doesn't necessarily mean complacent.

The Ranger designs are completely original. This is just my idea for a Power Rangers story as done by Hasbro, since they now own both Power Rangers and My Little Pony.
So even if I reference things like "stock footage" and might even name the original Super Sentai show said stock footage comes from, it's all really just meant to be a joke. Like the jab at Chrysalis' actress being a bit lackluster. It's all just meant to give the illusion of you watching a real season of Power Rangers as it would probably be on TV.

You do know Power Rangers isn't ENDING after Dino Fury. Just the current ones we've been following. For the first time in ages...... we're getting a TRUE BLOOD reboot of Power Rangers more then likely.

Well, I'd heard that their thing with Toei. was coming to an end, meaning no more adapting Super Sentai footage, but I wouldn't mind them continuing after Dino Fury. Honestly, the fact they chose Ryusolger instead of ANY of the other Super Sentai to adapt has me baffled.
This story, realistically could work though as a Power Rangers story. Hasbro owns MLP, so they could use these characters, and Power Rangers is easy.

But, the Gold Ranger's Zord is NOT a praying mantis! It's a horned beetle! I watched the original Sentai of that one, so everytime they call that "Mantis Zord" I go into Twilight Sparkle level OCD. I know it's petty and I should just get over it, but... that stuff matters to me.

Yeah, I was getting away from Power Rangers since Wild Force (liked Ninja Storm tho) . Finally culminating with SPD. Never cared about the franchise since then. In fact, I didn’t even know they were still making more Power Rangers for years, and I don’t know how many more entries have been since then.
Then again, I can’t deny I had fun with their first entries, specially Mighty Morphing and Time Force. However, I’m not seeing myself returning to this either

Well, RPM was pretty good, and I've heard good things about Beast Morphers.
But, the ones after RPM are, questionable, to say the least. This story I'm trying to make more in line with the quality of the Saban post Zordon era. So Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, and Wild Force kinda sorta.

In Go Busters/Beast Morphers, I see the so called "Mantis Zord" and all I see is a Kabuto Beetle, clear as day. I can understand them not knowing the other two you mentioned, but confusing Kabuto Beetle with a Praying Mantis?

Wild Force kinda soured on me over time, and I barely watched all pre Time Force because DirectTv in Latin America didn’t have Fox Kids, the network which aired Power Rangers in Latin America until Time Force. I had to rely on other TVs with alternative cable TVs and pray they were airing said Power Rangers any chance I could get. Hence why I barely watched those, because I couldn’t.
I may have had some luck if I’ve watched local networks, but I’ve stopped watching those channels since I’ve returned from my first visit to the US
