Yeah but it's that anime problem of character who is supposed to be hundreds of years old but physically looks like a child, so I'd rather err on the side of caution.
The worst thing about EqG being a generic human high school spin-off is how it muddies the characters' ages, now you can get people complaining about the Mane 6 being underage even though the main show gives the impression that they're past college age. Least of all the timey-wimey convolution involved--the Dazzlings were banished from Equestria over a thousand years ago, and Sunset left when she was seemingly around Twilight's age and Twilight herself was only a child, but they're brought to the mirror universe right in time for Twilight's adventures in the present. Maybe the EqG world exists in a bubble where time never truly passes, it would explain how they managed to go through a summer vacation at the end of their senior year but still came back for more high school.
