So for those who might be wonder. Yes, Pearl is Twilight's Personal Student. Not because she did anything evil or something and needed reforming, like Starlight. But there it is.
Totally not planned that way by me. But the whoever wrote that little bit where Twilight said that, made way more sense than whatever I had. So I just ran with it :)

The original idea I had was that Twilight and Pearl were just really good friends. A shared love of reading mostly, and that since Pearl has a thing for dragons, she hung out with Spike a lot.
But that idea was never really fleshed out in my head very well. So I didn't mind the change. The story is better with how it is now.
So to fill in on something, for those who don't know. That wasn't Pearl talking down at Kirouac at one point. That was Tiamat herself talking through Pearl.
The Dragon Queen's taken a very keen interest in Pearl tonight. That a pony ( Tiamat has nothing good at all to say about the pony race in general) and a filly at that, has this much interest in her, got her attention.
The costume acting like it did in the first 2 chapters? Nopony was seeing anything. Those actually happened. Tiamat breathed a small portion of her power into the costume.
Which will come in handy later on. But that would be spoilers 😎
