Not the most comfortable topic, but I feel like you approached and handled it very well.
This seems to be a relatively common fear amongst those questioning their gender. It's sad that we associate looking for attention with shame. Everyone needs attention.
Oh boyo... I've had problems like this, but as a "Mormon" it's highly discouraged... I've never told anypony in person, but this hits me in the feels.
