Hmm...powerful, but I don't like it. Still, at least some of these points explain some of Celestia's behavipur...
Its sad when you think about it, immortality is a curse and to force it on anyone would feel like one of the greatest sins. Yet, it has to be done as Equestria needs a ruler and sadly while other rulers can last for a long time, even they have their limits. Celestia was forced to bear the burden for 1000 years and I imagine part of why she chose Twilight was because she knew she couldn't bear it for much longer.
Same with Twilight, eventually she'll have to pass the torch to another before she finally passes on, forced to condemn another to the same lonely hell they were forced to suffer through, only able to offer some shallow form of comfort to them.
It's a sad cycle.
Still wish this never happened in Season 9. -_-*
And his reaction is probably one of the main reasons for Celly to NOT tell Twilight (*Live for the now*)
Minor detail, but Cadence is an alicorn, so where is she (retired like Twilight will be)?
Stories like this always have me thinking Twilight Sparkles fate is both to create a heir to her power but also to create a way to die so she can be once again with those she left behind.
