I was pretty big in the MtG scene for most of the 90's. And in fact, it was the main reason why I didn't own a car until I was 23. MtG is a more expensive hobby than cocaine. But at least it's not as bad as WH40K.

A friend of mine who's ... uncle? or something was one of the college friends of the guy that invented MTG, and long story short, in order to 'focus on his studies' he gave me 3 3x3 card binder pages of the original power 9 beta and the edition run after that before graduation.
