The location was effectively a bar, though anyone who went to a bar in a more normal world would consider the drinks served there to be an affront to nature itself. That said, the atmosphere was still welcoming and friendly, not to mention significantly less rowdy than most other establishments of the sort. The counter was smooth and well cleaned, with many stools seated for close conversation with the barkeep should it be desired. However, most patrons of the establishment took to the many tables, their largely red, blue, and yellow clothes giving the place an unusually organized feel, making the occasional person wearing a different color stand out.
The bartender herself was one of those people: a dark-skinned woman wearing a flowing purple robe and a decidedly unusual hat that could have been used as a table if it wasn’t slanted to the side. She looked out over her many patrons who sat, chatted, and enjoyed the view out the window. And what a view it was: endless stars, streaking by with rapid speed. Few of the patrons looked at the familiar sight, but it was still beautiful nonetheless.
The yellow door manifested right behind the bar and the barkeep. It opened, depositing our heroes into a very public place.
There would be no hiding this time.
Well, we're in space somewhere, but where? There are a bunch of franchises it could be, but without any clear and obvious clues... I doubt it's Doctor Who, and it doesn't seem like Stargate. Could be Battlestar Galatica, Bablyon 5, Firefly... but I'm fairly certain it's actually the classic late 70s/early 80s BBC science fiction series Blake's 7. Maybe we'll finally learn what happened at the end of it's iconic Season 4 finale!
(No, I won't stop, and buckle up because the stupidest is yet to come.)
Star Trek Next Generation!

Damn I completely missed the clues when he said clothes of yellow blue and red.

Yeah, this one is pretty distinct, but I'm not really sure who could be the next hero. Who in Star Trek counts as a ruler of beasts? Unless humans are the "clever beasts" which would make it simpler.

Maybe Worf???

Could be. The issue I'm taking is with the word ruler. It could be hyperbole, which would probably mean it could be any officer, personally I think Data would make the most sense as a teammate.
Sonic is going to be so not happy next chapter. And, how does the doors work to be where it is now? Is it like the Futurama delivery ship. The ship doesn't move, the universe move around it.
There's a lot of baggage in that statement...
She does; she doesn't know it. Anyone who spends enough time around Azula is intimately familiar with the concept.
The Ty Lee/Eggman partnership fills me with equal parts anticipation and dread.
Curious. A glimpse at the author? But of the story or the Prognosticus? Is there even a significant difference?
And... well, at least the locals will be familiar with strange new sapients popping out of the woodwork, if not quite so literally. It's a shame they couldn't bring half a dozen more people. Seems best to bring ten forward.
In all seriousness, it definitely seems like we're breaking the order of the prophecy. "Analytical as a machine but seeking of more" absolutely describes Data. And I have to wonder what the Q Continuum and other transcendent forces of that universe think of all this Void business. I can't help but imagine Trelaine going full Scrappy Doo. "Lemme at 'em! Lemme at 'em!" And there may be folks in the future debating whether the Temporal Prime Directive means they should interfere right now. And I haven't even touched on how this universe will impact the supernatural capabilities of the known heroes!
This should be very interesting indeed. Looking forward to more.
I would prefer Stargate instead of Star Trek simple because supernatural theme is more alligned with the former than the latter.
Then again there some supernatural stuff here and there.
