Interesting. Assuming that Fluttershy was talking about her "darkness", she was talking about how she was feeling when she was being bullied as a filly, this is something that isn't explored that often. Both Starlight and Fluttershy was insecure about something that happened to them as fillies, but reacted very differently to it.
In fact, as "Party of One" showed, Pinkie has this bit of darkness in her and some insecurity too, but I've yet to see a story explore that with Starlight's insecurity like this story did.
