Chapter 8: Dating in the music room

"That's amazing!" cried Blaise, clapping. Harry nodded.

"I'm going to study for our charms exam. Charms OWLs tomorrow!" cried Twilight. "You guys coming?"

Rainbow Dash shook her head. "I need to speak to Harry privately."

Twilight smiled. "Come on guys. Hermione and I are going to have an all nighter."

The others walked out, separating for their respective common rooms.

Rainbow Dash smiled. "You asked me ages ago about my past and friends. I would tell you the whole story, but the whole thing all starts with Sunset. You see…"

FLASHBACK- Through the mirror

Princess Twilight looked down on the sobbing redhead in the pit. The other Equestria Girls, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity joined her too. But Rainbow Dash knew that feeling.

FLASHBACK- Middle school

Rainbow Dash was on the soccer field, playing soccer. Cloudkicker was in the possession of the ball, when Rainbow Dash tackled her and did not pass to anyone. She scored a goal.

The whistle blew. "DASH!" cried the coach, Spitfire. "You need to work as a team. See me in my office after school."

FLASHBACK-Back to through the mirror

Rainbow Dash gently pulled Sunset from the pit. "I know that feeling. I was a middle school bully. I bullied my teammates in football. I wanted to become a better person. I- I just went the wrong way, Sunset. Sometimes, we can't choose our friends, but we'd be willing to help those who have a lot to learn. I'm pretty new to this too. We all are. We've all done things we've regretted, even Princess Twilight, right?"

The princess nodded. "Just before I became a princess, I was stuck in a duel with the pony world Trixie and I lost. I regretted not asking for help in the first place. Trixie shoved me out of Ponyville. I seeked advice from Zecora, the wise Zebra and she taught me. I used the magic of friendship and I defeated her. I still have the amulet, but that's safely tucked away. Trust me. I get you. And we can teach you, right, girls?"

The 5 girls nodded. Suddenly, Twilight pulled Sunset up and embraced her in a loving hug. "When you're ready, Princess Celestia will welcome you home with open hooves," she whispered in Sunset's ear

Sunset smiled a weak smile. "Thank you so much, Twilight. I don't deserve this at all."

"Oh, but you do," said Fluttershy kindly. "Especially people like you. You need help. Trust me. You can accept our help and like Dash, you can change for the better, or..."

"You can always be alone," finished Princess Twilight, sighing. "The choice is yours. I think it's clear that you felt unloved. You're wrong now. You have 6 wonderful friends, or 6 wonderful to be friends who love you to bits. But first, Sunset. I need you to apologise to those you hurt. I forgive you, and maybe the girls do too, I don't know, but I don't know if the rest of the school will forgive you. To show them you have changed, you must do an exceptionally good deed. Remember, they will be there to guide you as well as be your friend."

FLASHBACK- anon-a-miss

Sunset hesitantly walked into the Sweet Shoppe.

"Whatcha doin' here, Shimmer?" asked Rainbow Dash coldly. "You're not our friend. You hear me? You're not our-"

Sunset opened her journal. "I've told Princess Twilight everything," said Sunset. "She asked me who is your family? So I ask you: Would the Sunset Shimmer you know now, the current one, would she do this?"

That shut the girls' mouths.

"Oh fuck," said Rainbow Dash. "I don't know."

"No," said Applejack quietly. "You'd never do this. Ahm so sorry, Sunset. And Dash, language."

"I think I know who it is though," said Sunset, glancing towards the door.

"Yeah." said Applebloom. "It was us. Sweetie Belle took Sunset's phone, I posted Piggly Wiggly and Scootaloo helped set the account up. Ahm sorry, Sunset. I really truly mean it. I was jealous, well, we were jealous of our sisters spendin' more time with ya, Sunset, so yeah."

"Bloom, yer grounded fer the rest of the Christmas break," said Applejack. "You can sweep the barn, feed the chickens, feed the cows, look after Winona and goodness knows what. Consider yerself lucky, sis. I could be a lot harsher."

"I'm afraid," said Rarity, "we're gonna have to tell Principal Celestia."

"I'm sorry, girls," said Sunset. "But it's over now, all just a simple misunderstanding."

We know who the culprit is: The CMC, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. They confessed this afternoon. Applejack is going to ground Applebloom.

"Wait…" said Harry, his emerald green eyes widening in shock. "You were a bully?"

Rainbow Dash nodded, ashamed.

"I still love you," said Harry, inching closer to Rainbow.

"I love you too, Harry," said Rainbow Dash.

Before they knew it, they were kissing. "You know, Dash. You're a pretty good kisser, considering you've never kissed a boy before."

Rainbow Dash laughed. "Totally. I'm really bad. Tried to date Zephyr Breeze. Didn't turn out well. Bitch he was."

"Let's get studying," said Harry. "Charms Owl tomorrow. You nervous?"

"Eh," said Rainbow Dash. "Let's go back to the common room."

Meanwhile, in the Slytherin common room, Sunset and Blaise were sitting on a sofa.

"You asked me why I never talk about my past, it's just that, it's traumatizing," Sunset sighed. "Here goes…"

PRESENT DAY- HOGWARTS

"...And that's that," said Sunset lamely. "That's me. I basically turned into a terrifying demon and I was accused of posting everyone's secrets at school, until the culprits came forward and confessed."

"You know," said Blaise, "It doesn't matter who you were in the past, it's now. You're the kindest, sweetest girl I have ever met. I love you."

"Kindness isn't my thing," said Sunset. "I'm more ambitious, and more smart. I'm not mean, well, not that mean anymore, but you get it, don't you?"

Blaise shut his textbook with a bang and let his lips slide over Sunset's. Sunset giggled. They were kissing in secret. "You know," said Sunset. "I truly think Hogwarts has changed us all. Especially after that Thestral lesson with Hagrid, I feel like the Forbidden forest has really changed us all. The forbidden forest is like an enchanted forest, right? And they say an enchanted forest is a place of transformation."

Author's Note:

In this chapter, the story is repeated. The reason? Because this is Sunset’s story and Rainbow’s story . As I told Ilikethemsalty on Fanfiction.net(here is the message: it was supposed to be like that, as Sunset and Dash were telling the exact same story, their lives at CHS(see Equestria Girls 1) and parts of it are based on the film itself so I wanted to keep important bits in. I did add a subtle hint to Frozen II, did you notice that? If you did, I'm delighted. Well, yeah. It's basically a reworking of Equestria Girls 1 and Anon-a-miss. I did consider Friendship Games for Sunset's POV but I decided no, as well, it is exciting, but it's a very competitive story(i mean that someone(and this character is mentioned a lot in this fanfic) is mega competitve. Maybe you can guess who this mega competitive person is?) The flash backs aren't really part of it, it's just that it is background info about Dash and Shimmer(See Friendship Games and Mirror Magic) which isn't crucial to the story but it may come in handy later in chapter 9. Also, it tells you what universe this is set in: Original Universe. You know that because of the Flashbacks. You'll understand when you see the videos.)
