Bats aren't just a bunch of big scary mango munching monsters... right?

Right?!

That's what one lone bat has set out to prove... just in her own unconventional way...

This was just a silly one shot written for a contest in Nailah's discord server.

I never imagined that this story would ever take off like it did. If you want to see more feel free to follow and let me know in the comments. I have a couple of ideas for a potential sequel if people really want to see one

This was such a cute slice of life story. And it has headpats in it! <3
Keep up the great work, and stay awesome.

Heh. Awkward conversations after one rampage that everyone understood as to be not-scary. Great work, Tiki

Hilarious, adorable, a great read with likeable characters and a fun premise.

(I don't mean to offend anyone with this comment in any way!)

You can tell he wasn't eating apples.

"So..." Officer Rights looked around the market, which was unusually calm, except for the odd line in front of the Apple Family cart. "Does anypony know where the pony is who was causing all the ruckus?"

"Over here," called out Applejack, waving at Miranda from behind her cart. "Might be a bit afore you can pick him up and haul his buns to jail, though."

"Soooo fluffy!" cooed a pegasus, who was bent over and petting something on the ground.

"Come on, come on," groused the pony in line behind her. "Your time's up, and I've got my two bits here, AJ."

"Just put it into the bucket," said Applejack as Officer Rights came around the corner and looked down. At first, she really didn't understand what she was seeing, but after blinking several times, the tied-up batpony with the lump on his head made more sense.

"Stealing apples out of your stand, I presume," said Officer Rights.

"He's paying for them now," groused Applejack. "An' maybe a few bits more to post bail."

"Uhhh," groaned the batpony. "I'm innocent, Copper. I was struck by the wild beauty of the place."

Applejack frowned. "Want another lump there, loverboy?"

You don’t know how happy this comment just made me. I’ve been writing for a while now and I never feel like I make something that really stands out to people. I’ve never had anyone do a reading of any of my stories before so thank you so much!!! That means a lot to me, and I’m glad you enjoyed the story!

And everypony lived happily ever after...

Until Moonlight got a whiff of mango, and suddenly went mango crazy, setting her species back a thousand years.

I wanna boop da snoot!!!

Sure, mangos are like some of the best fruits in existence, and just the thought of them makes my mouth water in anticipation, but if I’m going to be honest, pineapple and citrus are the far superior fruit.

That’s not a bat pony, that’s a changeling in disguise!

Left me with a big smile on my face. I'm a sucker for adorable characters ^^

Great work :)

This really means a lot to me, glad you enjoyed it!

Kind of surprised ponies aren’t running at her, waving bills and demanding recompense for fruit.

It was too cute to resist

This is the second time I’ve ever gotten a reading on this story (or any story for that matter) and it really means the world to me that people enjoy it so much. I wrote it in maybe an hour and didn’t put a ton of thought into it but I’m so glad and honored that people still like it enough to do something like this. So again, thanks a million!

Happy to do a reading and make your day

I had taken extra care to look as fluffy as I could possibly be that morning and had picked out my best pair of socks— apparel that was statistically proven to make even the scariest looking pony a hundred and fifty times cuter!

It's true!
Ponies and socks simply match perfectly! No idea why, but it just works.

“Morning…” She slowly greeted me, “You’re awfully cheerful today, aren’t you?”
I excitedly nodded, “You bet! Just having a perfectly fun and not scary day!”

Indeed!

She let out another laugh, “You just want headpats? That’s really what this is all about?”
I nodded, “Sure is. I guess just to prove that I’m not scary.”

Who can say not to this?

Good story!
I enjoyed reading it.
