Huh, i've done lucid dreaming with very fine control in the past, but never heard of any danger from self-transformation. Don't see how that'd work, even.

All depends on the individual. Worst I heard of was a friend who lost control and it caused a spiralling nightmare followed by a sudden wake up. They ended up panicking and had long lasting sleep paralysis. They noted extreme discomfort and insomnia for weeks after. They said they would not have been surprised if they induced a heart attack if not lucky. Being carful seems warranted.

Interesting. Yeah, i've had spiraling nightmares caused by lucid dreaming in the past (what you expect occurs, and so when you get into your mind that you're expecting something bad to happen... Only hope is to subvert it, not completely break the nightmare's plot) - if it was long lasting sleep paralysis, probably caused by a VERY abrupt awakening.

So i'd imagine the main factor there is getting in the fear-loop, but it's surprising that a nightmare could have such prolonged effects.

I find all this lucid dreaming stuff fascinating, as someone for whom sleep is more akin to a cessation of thought and being I can not really understand the concept.

That is a nice story.
Chapters are a bit short for my taste (I'm a reader that looses himself in a story), but to each their own.
Hope to see this continue soon.
