Yes! I had that in the back of my mind - I know we see her doing other random jobs at various points, but I really wanted this to feel like... Well, it must be terrifying for a pony to be fired, in a world of cutie marks and predestination and angst over interpretation. I wanted it to feel like this was a plausible path for Derpy to take, to find a job she could happily do for the rest of her life, without it necessarily being her destiny as such. I liked the idea of her feeling it was OK to be a ditzy klutz, and nopony caring (so long as she remained a happy ditzy klutz) because she has a heart of gold.

Magnificent story folding together many of Best Pony's seemingly contradictory presences in flashbacks, including the heartbreaking montage from "Parental Glideance." Good to see her still trying to stay positive at her lowest point, and wonderful to see somepony else offering their help. Thank you for this.
