When the Gates of Tartarus are shattered by a cataclysmic explosion, Princess Celestia hurries to assemble a team of Equestria's finest to defend the peaceful nation. Twilight Sparkle and the Elements of Harmony are joined by an unlikely collection of twelve allies — some familiar, some obscure — to form the Equestrian Elite, who are thrust hastily into battle against a series of dangerous foes.

1338615 Yes sir there will be! I had originally intended on having anywhere from 3-6 images per chapter, and even upwards of 8 for the action-packed ones. Once I've finished editing the story for Equestria Daily, I'll return to working on the fifty two slated illustrations that didn't make it in.

I always pictured the banishment of NMM as being the beginning of a new era personally because I always imagined major events like that to be turning points. But that's just me, nice to see some time frame being used

Wow, this chapter was amazing. Totally worth the wait. I loved all the wonderfully cheesy moments in this chapter. I say wonderful because instead of making me roll my eyes or cringe, I was smiling like an idiot. Looking forward to the last chapter!

It's high time I commented on this story, and I finally have an account with which to do so! This has got to be one of, if not the single most amazing fanfiction I've ever read, and I am still astounded that it has not yet found a place in FIMfiction fame. You did a magnificent job of working with both canon and original characters, and managed to weave a powerful adventure seamlessly into the usually-lighthearted Equestria that we know and love. I applaud you, good Sunderbraze, and eagerly await future installments of the Equestrian Elite!
That was an absolutely outstanding chapter. The soundtrack was excellent for this chapter as well!

The part with the pony chain hanging off that one pegasus had me in stitches. I was hyperventilating at the end of it, and the Pirates of the Caribean music made me think of Jack Sparrow and that made it even better. It was an absolute riot. Very well done.

AWESOME.
For about 99% of the action/battle scenes/dramatic moments, I listened to Balloon Party: Dregs of a Bitter Cup and found that it made the story a lot more epic then it was. Especially during the last chapter or so, it made the moment sadder and more intense. If it was one of the soundtracks, then never mind so much.
Before that, I would listen to Nightcore: Music Box, and that would help too. I loved this story and felt my mind explode when reading, combined with these two soundtracks.
You added a new 4th wall break for me... I have seen now: Pinkie, (no duh) Vynal Scratch and now Discord break the 4th wall. In retrospect, I should have seen it coming from a mile away, since he is like an evil chaotic version of Pinkie. I feel like a complete moron for not seeing Discord as a 4th wall candidate, but I never was that smart in thinking ahead.
Good job... I hope that eventually you would write a squeal since there are so many things left unanswered.

Suddenly, a large section of marble bearing a cracked bull relief slammed into her shield from above, causing it to shatter into fragments of energy.
