Lyra had a decent life. It wasn't perfect but it was hers and it was good. Now all of that is gone and she's in the worst of all possible worlds.

Interesting idea, given her fate in the orginal story

Yeah, this is obvs a prequel and somewhat different continuity -- like if you read closely you'll note a change in StableTec upper mgt from the original, for instance. Plus. Like. Cars. That being said, if I do sequels, as I might, I still might try to get her onto that park bench in Canterlot.
There's a whole reason this is Lyra and Bon Bon but it's OOC and I haven't written my blog about this ye.

Sounds good to me. Just got my attention, as she's one of my favorite background ponies, that I am aware of her fatein Fallout, and the fact I did a few stories focused on her, having planned a few others with a friend of mine
You know, I always find it funny how grenades are portrayed in games. The pin doesn't make the grenade ready, it only secures the handle, who is the actual trigger.

This is correct. I did this for the funny. It is a deviation from reality. Maybe Lyra doesn't know this?

Yep and could be. Also, had to chuckle at the "cameo" of little PIp

*whistles innocently*

Well, imagine this would be canon and she "meets" herself.
Also, what got you the idea for this story? Just cirious

My blog post here explains it somewhat: https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/909346/fallout-equestria-pillars-of-society-is-live

Thanks!
A story where Lyra isn't gay and partnered with Bon Bon? I'm impressed. Those stories are very rare. Please respond to this comment.

Here's another one, and it's very very good. Altho it was written before Amending Fences, so it's out of sync with current continuity.

I can't say much -- spoilers -- but I can just drop that the author is a bisexual male in a successful (knock on wood) heterosexual marriage.
Pukwudgies.
I just spent the better part of twenty minutes pronouncing the word repeatedly, because it's a word my mouth and mind seem to enjoy, for some strange reason. Don't know where you got it from - or even if you made it up - but my addled brain approves of it wholeheartedly.

They're from the show! S8E1 or 2 I think; the Young Six fought them. As with so many other MLP creatures it's an actual mythological thing. These ones are a bit more like Fallout mole rats tho. Fallout: Equestria is delicious cocktail but you have to stir it really well or the ingredients start to separate.
Thanks for all the comments! Glad you seem to like it so far.
So we're in Fallout 4, with Lyra as the Sole Survivor and Bon-Bon as CURIE?
.... I will freely admit, I would never have thought of that.
Very clear deviation from the original Fallout: Equestria, What with Princess Twilight Sparkle, and with the Flim-Flam Brothers founding Stable-Tec. Having read Fo: E five times already (someone help me), I am having some cognitive dissonance, but it seems to be it's own thing so far. Something of a "could-have-been."
Pukwudgies are not a bad stand-in for Mole Rats! I mean, Kkat had manticores and hellhounds for radscorpions and deathclaws, so this is perfectly appropriate!
Good job!

My default RPG character name since Fallout 1 has been Lyra Zed. And then I met CURIE and I'm like "She has a French accent! 'Bon Bon' is a French word! It's Lyra and Bon Bon!" That's how my brain works.
I'm doing a few different things—updating the canon for the end of G4, deconstructing/reconstructing/responding to one of my favorite novels (not fanfics, but NOVELS, up with Watership Down and The Last Unicorn and The Left Hand of Darkness, though I've only read it 1 and 5/6th times; I tend to slow down after Ditzy has her crowning moment of awesome), and being a primadona with a crappy memory. You're probably gonna hate that the hellhounds are diamondclaws in this.
But...
Yeah, I'm slowly revising it, and definitely daydreaming about a sequel, so lemme know if you have any feedback! It might well be acted on.
I know next to nothing about Fallout. I know the aesthetics, and a few basic things, that's about it. So the way you're able to draw me in and how you explain the world and make me feel like a part of it, able to understand everything that's going on, really shows the level of dedication you've had to this story and your skill as a writer. I've really been enjoying this so far, and I love the way you've handled the characters so far, the life you've given all of them, the sense of personality they all have. I love the way you work in Lyra's quirks, her eccentricities, and the way you're developing her.
