This story is a sequel to Celestia XVII: The Broken Princess

Soarin', still recovering from his injuries, is struggling to figure out what to do with himself. After all, what are you supposed to do when you can no longer follow your Cutie Mark?

In the middle of his moping, Soarin' gets an unexpected visit from his sister. Things... don't go well.

They don't call her "Spitfire" for nothing, after all.

Contains spoilers for The Broken Princess. Read that first!

Bravo! Your story was as wonderful as always!
Can't wait to read more! :pinkiehappy:

I am glad to see that Soarin and his sister got everything worked out. I hope he pops the question soon for Cece.

Im so glad to see this story exist. Soarin really needed to put his own house in order before the next apocalyptic event.

REALLY good job on this latest one-shot. Love the work that went into the exchanges, characterizations, general wrap-up AND future story set-up in all the right places. Yeah, I could definitely understand Soarin' struggling to adjust to his injury during the fight with Discord as well as Soarin' and Spitfire working through a few of their other issues too. And, yeah, the flashbacks were beautifully bittersweet. And Soarin' had a excellent point about Celly owing him BIG TIME. Anyway, glad things worked out as well as they did here.

"H. R. Buzzword" is an amazing pony name.

With that sort of upbringing, it would have been weird if we didn’t try to get into the ‘Bolts ourselves.

I'd argue it'd be just as likely that they got so thoroughly sick of the 'Bolts at an early age that they wouldn't want anything to do with them.

even Surprise, who took credit for the red “X” drawn over one wing of the cartoon pegasus on the front.

Wow, Surprise. Wow.

Brilliant work from start to finish, taking the sibling bond between Soarin' and Spitfire from shocking twist to something that feels both genuine and obvious over the course of the story. Thank you for this.

(Sorry for the late reply, it's been on my to-do list for several days...)

I'm catching up on my pony reading, and this was a delightful surprise to find waiting for me! I love your Celly XVII stories, and this one is no exception, with great characterization and emotional content.

Wow, Surprise. Wow.

I liked that touch, actually. It felt like authentic military gallows humor to me!
