Yes, this one’s absolutely fantastic.

I did notice a another shoutout, namely the one to Eden, a commenter on the last story.

It’s also quite interesting that this blog was written in French. I translated it and this came out:

like the nights that taught me to love goodbyes

It’s quite cool, but we can make of that what we wish.

But a couple other maybe-refrences I found such as the violin player playing her heart out in the subway. Interesting that Fiddlesticks chose a violin, because you usually find street drummers, acoustic guitarists, and vocalists busking in subways (feel free to correct me, anybody, I don’t have a subway in my city). But, a violin is also known as a fiddle.

Also,

She passed a metal trash can, filled to the brim with coffee cups and cigarette butts.

I don’t know if those coffee cups are a reference to The Endless Cycle (my most popular story), and it probably isn’t, but it’s a fantastic choice of words regardless.

And yes, I think we’re on track with the purgatory theory.

That’s all for now. Don’t like being first comment, but whatever.

EDIT: I googled the French, and it’s more EDEN. It’s a song called isohel. In EDEN’s own words, the song is about “wishing the best for the people you left behind but knowing that you’re probably better off where you are now.”

Well, I think that that fits these stories rather nicely.

She turned her attention to the other track instead. Across from her were two sets of posters, tucked away behind a sheet of glass. The first one showed a unicorn with a red mane smiling at the camera, the words ‘Artsy ‘46’’ etched below them.

Did I just get a shoutout from the Author! :pinkiegasp: Ay thanks for shouting me out and keep on doing what you're doing, these stories are really great to read.

This is an absolute masterpiece. This is the first story of yours that Iʼm reading. The words you chose, the pacing of the story, Rainbowʼs thoughts, Windyʼs love, all of it is beautifully interwoven together.

And what stood out to me was that mystery element. We donʼt know where Rainbowʼs headed, or why sheʼs going there. And yet, you wrote this piece in such a way that Iʼm rooting for Dash, despite not knowing anything about her journey.

Hats off, dear Fiddlesticks! :raritywink:

I'd almost worried at the beginning considering the mare mentioned here was Rainbow Dash's mother and the description almost seemed to depersonalize that. But again, you've shone through, and for that I am truly grateful. Nice work, man.

Wonderful.

Sadly, I think that the purgatory theory is more concrete now. Don't give me wrong, it's nice and all these stories are amazing.

I find the pairings of her friends and places to be interesting. I think it's how RD sees her friends.

Applejack in the mall's food-court.
Applejack doesn't really change. She's still selling and happy with it no matter the changes.

Rarity dancing in the highway.
Its like Rarity dancing between her work in Ponyville, Canterlot, and Manehatten. Always up on the latest fashion.

Pinkie Pie and the discount store.
Her life is hectic and she takes change like it's just another Tuesday.

Fluttershy and the airport.
Fluttershy is going places. Here is the Fastest Flier(TM) looking at Fluttershy and she's in the fastest setting. I think RD might be a little jealous. Whether it's; Discord and the places they go or the things they do. Or her slow but steady path from a doormat that is afraid of her own shadow to the lead role of a play where she plays Celestia. And now she has her own wildlife preserve/ animal sanctuary. Or it could be as avenues close/cancel others open/departures for Fluttershy and she takes them in stride.

Twilight is calm and collected.
Taking life's changes and still able to relax.

Also all of her friends have careers that don't care how old you are. Applejack can sell apples, Rarity can still create new dresses, Pinkie Pie can still make ponies happy, Fluttershy will still have the wildlife preserve and Twilight is secured as the princess of Equestria. But Rainbow Dash has a limited career, she's an athlete. She will have or had to retire.

Now we come up to Spike's. This is where I think we see what Rainbow-Dash thinks of herself. The aircraft and the junkyard. Old broken and ready for the trash heap.

So in this story she's faced with a vehicle technology even older than the airplane, A train, and even that has seen its days. Yet it still has a job to do. It's still needed.

I think we’ve reached pure analysis, but it’s a really good one!

You’ve really outdone yourself this time Fiddlesticks. That beautiful relationship between our favorite flier and her mother was written so well, you could practically feel the love coming off the (digital) page. Like Uz Naimat said, this was a masterpiece. (And someone definitely chopping onions in my room:fluttercry::raritycry:)

Oh yes that makes sense! Cool observation!

That was interesting. Looks like some bumps in the marriage road is what Windy’s talking about, but it happens. We might get more answers next installment, when Dash goes to see her dad. I’m still wondering how this is gonna end. Like, is there going to be a huge “Ooooooh” moment in the very last installment? Ooooor will it remain a mystery for the rest of our lives?:rainbowlaugh:

I actually saw it more of her parents getting older and her father getting sick. Rainbow’s line of,”I can’t imagine life without you” seems to imply this rather than a problem in their marriage.

After all, if our idea is true and Rainbow Dash is older in these flashback things, then her parents would be really old as well. It’s a forgone conclusion.

I’m confused on what’s happening.

That’s kind of the entire point of the series.

We’ve hatched a lot of theories, though.
