Excellent work. You absolutely nailed the account of [DATA CORRUPTED]

...Is SCP-2669 really a blatant rip-off of that movie monster?

Well, this one is. It's a deliberate MLP/SCP/The Thing crossover I wrote on a whim. The actual SCP-2669 on the official website is very different.

This was actually a pretty well done take on The Thing, if it was an SCP. I think you get the tone down pretty well. You get your homages/nods to the source material of The Thing. You clearly demonstrate the danger it poses to all sapient life. While the John Carpenter Thing's true motivations are never clear, besides the fact it's alien, other, an incomprehensible monster. That only seeks to ensure it survives and spreads. You give this version of the monster some depth, but you do it in a way that suits the SCP Setting. You don't give all the answers, but rather raise more questions, which is part of the whole appeal of the SCP Universe. Not that it's the case for every SCP, just in general.

So overall I think you nailed this crossover of three different mediums. I.e, Cartoon ponies, horror movie and collaborative writing effort with a vast mythos. I've been craving some SCP Crossover content for a long time, and hope you decide to tackle this kind of story again someday. If you'd like some movie monster suggestions, I'd recommend the spiky moss/plant monster from Splinter. The Drenn creature from Splice and The Necronomicon and Deadites from Evil Dead.

Terrifying. I love it.

Purty good. I liked it.

I'm very glad you appreciated it. I tried to leave just enough ambiguity to make people wonder, but there are a lot of clues too.

This is why I love the SCP foundation

SQA

That was pretty cool.

The SCP-2669 of this story is more like a fanfic sequel/epilogue to The Thing. If it happened in the MLP universe with an SCP Foundation in place to understand and contain it.

This wasn't bad, especially as a fan of both SCP and The Thing. Gotta ask though, is there any other good The Thing related fics on the site worth reading? Or any good The Thing fics in general on other sites?

There is one in particular called Blossomthing. It's really really good. It's definitely not sfw though. It started off purely as clop and the early chapters are not very well written. They improve rapidly though, they're probably a better writer than me now. Just a heads up though, it's super weird.

Your data was corrupted. Allow me.
[REDACTED]

Judging by its talk about how it’s offering “salvation” through “communion” I’m guessing someone has read Peter Watts’ short story The Things

That would be correct. Just a little homage there.
