If only Applejack could be trusted with a secret.

A sort of alternate ending to the "Harvesting Memories" special. Written in a few hours. Mild fantasy violence. Apples.

Well, this was amusing. Since it went off on so many tangents, though, I suggest you add a "Random" tag.

Oh, Starlight. I suppose I should be grateful that her next impulse wasn't to wipe Twilight's short-term memory.

Every so often, the image flickered black - her memory self blinking.

That's a really cool touch, one that makes it fee a lot more organic than a book full of episode clips.

"We erase your memory."

Ah. Well then.

"It's the earth pony way," Applejack insisted.
"It is not!"

"Sure it is! Ain't a proper family reunion 'less somepony goes home with a concussion."

"What's the moon?" Tibia asked.

Ohhh dear.

"I mean, what am I like in the future?" Applejack asked. "'Ssumin' I'm alive, of course."
"Whoa. That got dark," said Spike, perturbed.

"Two dead parents, two dead grandparents. 'S called pattern recognition."

"Maud's in the Royal Garden now."
"It's probably what she would have wanted."

I get the sense that she did it specifically to achieve that outcome.

Applejack, preserver of temporal continuity. And hey, we know she can keep a secret.

For the last 6 weeks, there have been 'Flashback speical episodes' showing Starlight and Spike going to each of the Main 6 (minus Twilight) and Luna and Celestia collecting memories for the scrapbook they give her after her coronation.

Thanks! I was kind of iffy on whether to class this as "Random" or not, since I'm not sure it's quite random enough, despite a couple of unexpected things happening in the story.
