This is a really good chapter. I get where Twilight is coming from. But so many forget that peace and prosperity, are hard won with blood by previous generations. I get why Slipshod thinks the way he does. He is practical, or as practical as revenges goes. But I think that at some point he will realise that he does have friends that care about him and that he can care for. Once he realise that, I think he will actually grow metaphorically and physically.

It is fun to write two characters interacting who are coming at the same problem with fundamentally different value sets based on their upbringings. Though I think that this is about the last of the serious beat-downs of Twilight's character that'll happen for a while. Now that she's been torn down, we can start building her back up.

Our reinforcement was in the form of an LRM turret system in base that somehow got rid of one or two damaged enemies when they ran past us, and we had to chase some of them back into the city.

It was just us, 3 players with medium tutorial mechs against waves of light and medium mechs and vehicles. Everybody gangsta till the enemy urbie jumps over a hill and starts delivering heavy hits with his AC10... And the location rolls for damage kept the Urbie alive and the AC10 intact the whole battle. And I tried to stomp a tank with my Griffin... I missed and failed the pilot check and fell... nobody told the pilot it was a lego tank. We all survived and the mission was acceptably completed (just somewhere between perfect and a warcrime against the city). It was more awkward than painful.
