This is quality read but very weird story that left me with confused feelings.

That's all I can sum up right now.
So what I'm getting from this is that Shining Armor is a wannabe pimp who was essentially legelese'd into marriage because he got too friendly with the, at the time, newest princess. That's what I'm getting from the fact that there is absolutely no love for Cadance in Shining's being as he exists in this fic, and how 'not about to use a condom' he is with another mare he literally just got with. So he thinks himself a pimp with all the mares of Equestria as his whores, and of course he has to use his words just so to string Cadance along for the ride just long enough for her to get so pissed at him she actually divorces him and he's free once more to be his sick self.
Now, in light of this all I can say is, dude, you've got maybe a week to completely disappear from Equestria before the Royal Toy Hammer that is Celestia's overstuffed flank plays Whack-a-mole with your head.

I can see Shining getting tormented to the Nth degree for how he not only lied to Cadance, but how he treated Fluttershy.

Dude, that was uncalled for, I was OK with Cadance berating up until she spat on her, and made her cry, now Cadance is in my bad list now, this Cadance at least.
This story makes me think of Leon of Pokemon Sword and Shield for some reason.

I don't get it.
Shining Armor feels like a cardboad cutout in this story. There is only a line or two to indicate that Cadance wasn't a perfect wife herself. Their relationship is so perfectly boring and unappealing, it's hard to get invested into.
The writing overall is competent, but, again, it's hard to appreciate.
P.S. At least Fluttershy tries to be herself. Sadly, even she can't salvage the whole thing.
I'm not sure if this a sequel or a prequel to Cadence Enjoys Cucking.

The premise of this was so much better than the execution. Everything felt hollow and unreal. I don't hate any of the content in it, but the quality could do with improvement. More lines filling out character, more believable personalities. Fluttershy was the most believable part of the whole thing, trying somewhat to hold everything together, but even that was... not written very well.

This feels like a situation where, deliberate or not, we've seen two different takes on the broader "Cadence and Shining b/w cucking" theme.
CLC was "Cadence cucks, Shining doesn't like it". This was "Shining cucks, Cadence doesn't like it".
So to complete the chart or Venn diagram or whatever, there are more hypothetical variants: "Cadence cucks, Shining does like it." and "Shining cucks, Cadence does like it."
But then there's not only the double-up version where they both mutually engage in the process and both of them like it, but there's the way weirder (metaphorically) null set of "Both of them cuck each other and neither of them likes it."
...And now that I've thought about it that way, I kind of want to see those other variations. :V

Cadance not being honest at the start ("open relationship" , but in name only, her disregard for what shinning was telling her)
Shining just being over it and "forcing" the issue, also getting them preggers
Fluttershy kinda messing with a married stallion, imo not communicating about her fertility (or even desire to get pregnant?)
People kinda do stupid shit like that all the time - instead of communicating honestly they play some dumb ass games
I love how bitter and awkward this entire story is and especially the incredibly sour note that it ends on.
And then Cadence continue around Ponyville finding more foals from Shining
This is one of my favorite stories, simply because I love the premise alone. I always found conceps such as "I'd do anything for my partner even if I'm miserable", or "it's just a facade" very interesting, and this is a perfectly executed story.
I must admit, Fluttershy being the third party was a somewhat strange addition, and I always wondered if she is just a passive-aggresive B word or just extremely naive. Maybe this is one of the element that makes this story so grating.
