During the events of the Ending of the End, there was conflict among the three pony races. Lyra suffered the worst of it when her fiancé, Bon Bon, ended their engagement because they were from different races. Even when the final battle was over, Lyra wasn’t sure if she should forgive Bon Bon and continue with their marriage plans.
This is a take on what would happen if the division among the pony races cause some kind of severe consequence after the final battle. I also wondered what happened to Lyra and Bon Bon during the Season 9 finale.

I don't blame her (Lyra).
I doubt anybody would ever want to reconcile with their special someone, after the way they'd break their engagement ring and all that. The heartbreak is outright unimaginable. The lover(Lyra) who proposed to her lover(Bon-Bon), had obviously went through a lot of trouble to pour all her memories, all the moneys she had saved for that one ring. Then one day, she comes back home to find what? Her lover having second thoughts and wanting out of their engagement by smashing the ring to pieces. All the good times they've had together, all the sacrifices, all the love, gone in a heartbeat. In a way, it's downright betrayal.
All the more suspenseful this story has become for us. How did Bon Bon set things right? How long did it take until Lyra finally forgave her? Wonder what became of the engagement ring? (The one that Bon-Bon had purposely smashed)

It's not just What happened with Bon Bon and Lyra, I'm sure many of the unicorns will be very distrustful of the earth ponies and be going together as a pack.
A pack ready to strike any earth ponies down if they even take a step towards them.

In my personal opinion, they would have stayed together had the animators payed a bit more attention to that. It’s the one detail about the finale I didn’t like. It just made me feel wrong to see Lyra in Canterlot and Bon Bon in Ponyville even though Sugarbelle was in Ponyville with Big Mac.

part of me would like to believe that, in canon, the other Earth Ponies forced Lyra to leave. Or they saw how tense things were getting and decided to be separated until the heat dies down.
I wish we could have had a scene in the show where the Earth Ponies try to force Sugar Belle to leave Sweet Apple Acres; where not only does Big Mac and the Apple Family fight them off but Bon Bon helps the Apples, explaining how the rest of the townponies forced her loved one to leave and she won't let it happen to anypony else.

I know this is an emotional moment for Lyra, and it makes me feel crummy to point this out, but:
It’s widely known that she acted that way because she was stupid enough to believe those rumors instead of her now EX-fiancé.
The other Earth ponies and Unicorns had nothing to do with whether or not Bonbon wanted to marry her.

I’m currently updating my Drake Bros story and my other two Feather Bangs stories (The Prince and the Poet and Disco Suit Feather 2). I may work on two more accusation fics if I have the time or mood. One will be about Marks for Efforts and another will be about Winter Lotus who called the pegasai cowards during the Ending of the End.
That’s a very poor example. Moon Dancer is comparing Twilight (who at the time was known to not care about friendship at the time) not showing up to her party, to Bonbon smashing the engagement ring Lyra gave her.
Smashing an engagement ring in front of your fiancée is not a simple “mistake”, it’s much worse than that, especially if it was done because of a racist reason.
I understand the message of this story (sometimes your friends make big mistakes, but you shouldn’t let one mistake cost your entire relationship), but I can’t say I approve of Lyra’s friends almost immediately helping Bonbon in this instance, I feel like it downplays what happened to Lyra.
