Stand Tall is an earth pony working in the Equestrian government's Department of Artifacts shortly after the discovery of the Elements of Harmony. What begins as a bid to save his career quickly spirals into a mystery with potentially deadly consequences. Stand Tall is going to have to summon up every ounce of his courage, wit, and skill if he's going to make it out alive.

I'm just kidding, of course; I thought it was pretty good. I generally don't enjoy fics with more "realistic" tones, but I think you pulled it off well enough for it to not be distracting. One thing I should say is that you might want to use a little bit more paragraphing where appropriate. I'm not saying that you shouldn't use long paragraphs, just try not to do too much with each one. If that's just your style, then feel free to ignore me. I'd love to read another chapter if you write one.
