I agree. History was repeating itself in the finale. I think Luster does become an alicorn. So either she could keep Twilight company throughout an immortal or long lived life, OR she could become Twilight's Successor so she gives up her immortality. I think the latter.

Um... Yeah. This is so disjointed I can't like it. It's not even that Luster is an alicorn here. She knew the rest of the girls. She shouldn't be saying anything like she didn't.
Either this is a universe where The Last Problem didn't happen as we know it, and Luster was born afterwards before ascending.
Or this needs a complete and utter rewrite to bring it in line with the finale. As it is, it doesn't work as anything other than an Alternate Universe.

Okay, yes. This is my own version of how everything could have gone. And if you didn't get that by now, then that's your own problem. Not everything has to line up with the show and not everything will. That's all I have to say.

Then why not mark it as an Alternate Universe? It's not a bad story idea. But it doesn't work as it is. It's not my problem.
It's a tag problem. You're trying to sell the story as set in canon, when little in it says it does. Enough is different the AU tag would clear up the confusion readers might have.
