All that I touch seems to break in my hands, then it just bursts into flames.

That's the only song I have heard from them I think. But, I don't really listen to music.

Mustafa Mond nods in approval.

Dude. I rarely write comments, but this story for some inexplicable reason hit me hard. I like Lyra. Like. Yes. But the idea of the story, even tho it's not too deep, had me pacing for it's fair share of minutes. The moment of the fall somehow both tugged at my heart and made me laugh at the same time. Overall I think it is the epitome of a good short story, and what I hope to find every time I read 1000 word stories.

Thanks! I'm really happy that you enjoyed it. I was lukewarm to it but it's been really growing on me.

It's concise but straight to the point while giving a sort of satire and questioning what we, and the characters, know.

I was reading a lot of Harlan Ellison when I wrote this and it definitely has the feel of his short stories about it.
Thanks for the follow as well.

I love short stories like this, leaves me wanting a bit more but is also perfect the way it is.

Glad you liked it. Thanks for reading.

Short yet shocking, that is the 'Horror'. I give this 8.5/10. Those stories that are over 10K even 20K, IMO, are not good. To me, a horror story must be short and lethal like a dagger. Glad you make it.

Hello! Have a review. An interesting and disconcerting read, and although the twist is a little predictable it does fit the story. Upvoted!
