Nugget

"Hi! I'm Nugget, and I'm your friend to the end. Haydeeho! Ha ha ha!"

The field I stand in today isn't what it once was. Mother Nature had healed from the scars left by a battle which turned the tide towards Equestria. While the remnants of the war have since physically faded away, they still remain prevalent within my subconscious. This is my short tale of a fight which changed history, but at the expense of my fellow friends.

This story is based upon the poem "In Flanders Fields" and the Equestria at War mod for Heart of Iron 4

In Flanders fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below
We are the dead, short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

Awesome!
