Well now, this is interesting. I look forward to seeing where this leads.

SERGEANT MAJOR AVERY JOHNSON!

Instant favorite. No hesitation.

Best side character in Halo by far.

Is this a sergeant johnson fic i see? mmmmm... How interesting, please, continue.

This is going to be good

“Why must thou always leap?” -Sergeant at arms Avery, son of John

Favoriting and looking forward to more.

I love Halo fics (most of them anyway) and this is looking really promising.

ok, knew i was going to read this before i even clicked it. I was not disappointed once i started.

And he knew it was a she—the voice was raspy yet distinctly feminine, and while he wasn’t caught up on his marshmallow horse anatomy, what he saw between the swishes of her tail seemed to back up his assumptions.

Bruh. This story is good.

Looks pretty interesting. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

"Say what?! I came back to life for this? Hey, I'm not dying again! I only die once, you hear me? Hard enough coming back the first time."

:moustache:

Take the favorite and go

This could be interresting. Let's wait for more before I judge any further.

Woah, it's like a postcard! "Dear Sarge, kicking ass in outer space, wish you were here!"

Ah, Sargent Johnson's irreverent commentary continues! Truly "Brownie" has discovered her greatest treasure yet, a bonafide UNSC marine!

Oh my, I'll pick this up tonight :3

I'm a simple man, I see Sergeant Johnson, I upvote! Daring and Avery sound like an ultimate dynamic duo of badassery already

Heh, pretty good. I like the chemistry and the language barrier is totally going to lead to horribly awkward situations:rainbowlaugh:

Just in time for the MCC on PC, excellent. I'll be keeping watch.

Thanks bro, your story was the reason this is even a thing.

Author's Note:

I saw that I featured for like 5 minutes and was like holy shit so I wrote a chapter. Cool :raritywink:

Don't let that go to your head. If you want to stay featured, then keep writing.

What is this a crossover of?

10167938
No worries, it was just some extra motivation is all. This is going to be written feature or not.

10168109
halo, says in the tags next to MLP: FiM

10167750

Yeah, but sooner or later Johnson is going to find out she's been calling him "monkey", and the reaction will be much more entertaining than if she'd been calling him "minotaur".

Good old Avery, playing with the ladies emotions even if they're a talking marshmallow horse speaking moonspeake

10168732
Leave it to Johnson to know what the ladies like

do i need to know halo to get this?

10168885
You only need to know Sergent Johnson. Look up his character on YouTube, if ya want to.

You had my attention at good ol' Sargent Johnson. Now you've had my interest.

Good two chapters so far! Looking forward to see what you have more in store!

A guy from Halo
The picture looks like the guy from ALIENS

"Some time in the future, thou wilt land on a personage as obstinate as thyself. And I won't stand for fragments and other small quantities." -Sergeant at arms Avery, son of John

You had me at Sergeant Johnson, favorite and like, also a good ol track

With an outstretched arm, he pulled a protesting pegasus closer to him and with the other, pointed at the small spattering of stars visible in the canopy parting above. “Let me tell you a story—you see those stars up there? A long time ago on a ring world far far away, a kickass sergeant, an aussie, and a quiet spartan walked into a bar…”

Private Dubbo, that magnificent cunt :rainbowlaugh:

Also, Equestria uses English as a language for writing but not speech? :duck:

10169630
I was wondering about this too. How was Johnson able to see what it said on the packaging?

10169630
Because Equestria is wacky that's why

Good chapter budo and I liked it and I look forward to next chapter.

“Let me tell you a story—you see those stars up there? A long time ago on a ring world far far away, a kickass sergeant, an aussie, and a quiet spartan walked into a bar…”

Private Dubbo!

interesting story so far, but I only remember the games story not the characters lol.

I just imagine him being russian because its funny but anyways, I hope to see some more of this quality stuff!

As a regular user of the not-so-wacky tobaccy (wood tipped cigars primarily), I can say that you actually got pretty close to right.

You did however mistime the sequece of events in such a situation. How it generally goes is such.

1. Take the drag into your lungs. (Not recommended for first time smokers, you should only pull it to your throat the first couple of drags)
2. Immediately become a sputtering mess, sometimes mid drag.
3. Exhale/cough into the smoke (this doesn't really add to the distress in your lungs, but it does blow hot ashes on yourself and anyone around you.)
4. Enter a coughing fit that lasts up to 20 minutes.
5. Try again(repeat steps 1-5) or decide to not smoke and live a generally better, healthier and wealthier life.

Also quick thing, along with it feeling like your chest is on fire when you're hacking up smoke, there is a distinct constriction in your lungs. Feels kinda like a flaming ghost hand is squeezing the air outta you.

HAHAHA!!! Johnson, Dubbo and Master Chief walk into the bar.....

Hehe....that's a story I would pay to hear!

10169793
Ha! I read his dialogue in russian, it worked pretty well. Imma try this on other stories to entertain myself

10169389
I mean, kinda? The Marines from Halo and Alien do look similar enough, but one look at weaponry is all you really need. The MA5B has a rather distinct silhouette, at least compared to other sci-fi guns.

Johnson doesn't get many crossovers, and I feel you've captured his personage at least decently well.
Johnson is really only a supporting character in most media, the only thing I can think of that he had a major focus in was Contact Harvest, so I am interested in how you'll either change that while staying true to Johnson's character or give him other interesting characters to support.
Liked and Faved. Bring us more, author, and you will reap great rewards.

10169793
I wonder if people would like Johnson as much as they do if he had a different accent. Probably, given the dialogue he was given, but I think his usual accent sells it. He's got that Southern US drawl going at all times, at least when I hear him. Maybe it's because I'm a southerner too, but it's nice to hear him talk. Lets me know that at least the drawl stays alive for another 500 years.

10170133
Thank you for that, it is hard for me to write him because almost all of his game dialogue lines are badass speeches and such and he didn't get too much showtime in the novels, but I try my best. I think he is a much deeper man beneath his bravado so thats how I plan to write him

One you did well this chapter except for some minor grammar errors but that's beyond me. Two Kamachakra is 90% right on smoking cigarettes. Cigars are difrant then cigarettes. Three Sargent major Johnson has four things on him at all times
1. A side arm or weapon of some sort
2. His sharp tongue and lethal skills in combat
3. His dedication to the core and the UNSC
4. Finally his cigars and lighter
Ha-ha the last covinet bastard how ruined one of my cigars, well let's just say there ant-enough of him scraped off the walls and floor left to fill a shit bag.
Number Four don't fuck with Avery Johnson smokes. And that's Avery Johnson in a nutshell.

Daring hates Zebras
But only the black ones...
The ones with the white stripes.
