I do appreciate how this story doesn't take the easy way out, but rather actually takes the time to bring in the families of those affected.
Five Score, as well as most other TF fics (not to mention seemingly every anime of all time) tend to just write out the families entirely and either lampshade it or act like every character just lives alone. Even in shows where the characters should clearly have parents (e.g. Charlie Brown) the show just pretends like the protagonists all live alone and parents/family don't exist. This is usually done, presumably, because it can be a hassle to explain how the family would complicate the story.
This story however doesn't shy away from the subject, and I do appreciate how this story realistically shows how family members can sometimes cause additional difficulties and tensions into what is an already stressful situation.
Ah, speaking of family complications. Yikes. Can't really blame Berry, but oof, that will certainly not end well for her.
Twilight Sparkle says, "Never antagonize the person whose roof you are sleeping under!"
Oh hi mark.
Another emotionally charged chapter! And the transformations are nearly all finished, hooray!
Now that those are done, I'm sure there will be nothing but sunshine and rainbows ahead!

Do you ever include a reference in a scene that would ruin the scene if the reader got it?
I have. Guilty.
And of course! All sunshine and rainbows after the TF! Nothing bad or complicated every happens after the transformation finishes. That's when the wish-fulfillment happens, right?
I'm going to say right now: there's a huge difference between self-pity and self-hatred.
I'm afraid the suicide/self harm tag is directed to a later time in history, Especially when I remember how they appear in the original fic
